I don't know why I've grown quite fond of this yellow rotary phone. I've drawn her like 4 times now. she's not a vibrant yellow anymore as she's a bit worn from age.. but she's still beautiful and i always try to draw her as bright of a yellow as I can
idk where im really going with this thread i was just thinking a lot about objects and how they are structured the way they are. the designer often has to consider the general public and whether or not the design is easy to understand for people's use
he makes it a point in the book that if a door needs a sign to teach you how to use it, the design has failed. the correct action should be obvious at a glance. a handle should signify that a door needs to be pulled/a flat plate means it should be pushed+
