I'll be hosting a Guilty Gear AC +R netplay bracket on the 30th of January!
It won't be an exclusive Beginner Bracket but they're very welcome and depending on interest I will gladly run a beginner bracket in the future.
Joining me on commentary is Rele!

[What Guilty Gear means to us.]
To me, human connection is the most important thing about fighting games. And it's because of Guilty Gear that I've even been able to experience how fighting games bring people together from all over the world to create friendships and community.
That is why Guilty Gear is so important to me.
I always want to highlight what I appreciate the most about fighting games, so together with the German-speaking Guilty Gear community, I started working on a project a few months ago called "Was uns Guilty Gear bedeutet."—which translates to "What Guilty Gear means to us."
I asked the German-speaking @GGSTDACH community and our legacy GG heads over at @HardEdge what Guilty Gear means to them.
It was important for me to have this project not only represent Strive, but the Guilty Gear scene here as a whole.
Over the span of a few weeks, I gathered 70 posts from the community. People submitted tournament photos, selfies, drawings, cosplays, scans of memorabilia, and more.
People also wrote about what Guilty Gear means to them. Submissions include some actually multiple-page-long essays, telling personal stories of how Guilty Gear has impacted their lives.
Since then, I have been working on a magazine that will hopefully showcase all of these submissions in full and somewhat present how Guilty Gear has impacted the FGC in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Please look forward to it!
When it became clear a few months ago that I was going to Arc World Tour Finals, and there was a chance of possibly meeting the team behind Guilty Gear—I made it my goal to try presenting these stories to the development team.
Using the submissions for the Guilty Gear magazine, a gift was created.
I made a postcard for each of the 70 players that submitted something for the magazine, using a quote from their text and one of their provided images. The resulting powerful deck of cards was placed in a gift box.
Somehow, I was fortunate enough to make the pipedream a reality.
After carrying the gift box to Los Angeles (it was fun going through security with this, haha), I was somehow, someway, able to present this community gift to Mr. Miyauchi himself.
On behalf of the German-speaking Guilty Gear community, I would like to thank @KenM_ASW for taking the time out of his busy schedule at Arc World Tour Finals to accept our gift. It means a lot!
I would also like to thank @den_nou for making it possible. Thank you very much.
While I was presenting the gift to Mr. Miyauchi, other Arc System Works staff appeared to take a look at the gift, and I really appreciate their kindness.
It was really fun seeing Arc System Works taking a look at the cards and commenting on what they saw! @dilaramilena's I-No artwork as a cover seemed to be the right choice to draw eyes. :)
Among the cards, @Ozawa_ASW immediately recognized KenDeep from Germany, who had previously qualified for Arc Revo during Xrd times. Many submissions also told the story of the infamous German "FFM Rumble #8" event, where legendary Potemkin player @gou4th_fab was in attendance—thanks the organization of @mik_oro and @atg213.
Seeing pictures of the German community with FAB put a smile on ASW staff's faces, and I am happy that this part of history got a moment to shine. :)
I promised the community to take a picture as proof, so here it is!
Thank you once again to @KenM_ASW and everybody else at ASW for accepting this gift from the German-speaking community. Guilty Gear means a whole lot to us, and we truly appreciate your kindness in receiving it.
Vielen Dank!

You can find a Google Drive link with a PDF of all the cards, as well as photos of the giftbox, in the replies. Please note that this version is not identical to the one given to ASW, since some players preferred to have their images shown to Arc System Works only.
I really hope that reading through the cards warms your heart as much as it did mine!
Fighting game really is, something so great.
Once the magazine is done, I will try to make a post about it here as well. Thank you for taking the time to read my super long post about this.
Much love from Germany! ❤️

In case anybody who's seeing this and wonder, why the "german FGC" has to suffer under this, by no means is this "german FGC", it's just one part of it.
Stop trying to make this about everyone involved, you reap what you sow
Sad day for BKA and the German FGC: Capcom EU has prohibited the play of their games at BKA Wintersaga'25. No reason was given, no further communication has been offered regarding the community license. We apologize and hope you’ll still join us - events thrive on the community!
@Simiclove That's my point, if I don't know what's exactly going on, is it german FGC or a local thing?
"yo, what's going on in the german fgc" leads to "ask the local dudes" - just dislike the broad usage of the term here, nothing more
@Simiclove I do, but I think grabbing the whole term and making it about everyone is not good, just as probably that singular? person now did for you in Hamburg.
The action of one or few individuals now impacted a lot of people sadly and I don't think it's the Hamburg FGC as a whole btw.
Silvester wird im MadGear wieder gefeiert. Kommt gerne vorbei und es wird bis ins neue Jahr gezockt!
