They look ridiculous.
I guess we should be happy they're at least not wearing horned helmets, but did they really have to rent the cheapest costumes from the kids birthday party supply store in stead of getting something a bit accurate and cool?
This is a sports team.
@deesnider I play in a Stooges tribute band. We’re just some amateurs having fun. I don’t know how Iggy feels about it, but former Stooges member James Recca joined us on stage in January. He had a great time, we had a great time, the audience had a great time. Can’t see the harm in that.
With MAGA rediscovering American exceptionalism and thinking Europe to be the underdeveloped backwater, I've decided to do a short thread tackling the most common misconceptions Americans seem to have about Europe.🧵
🇷🇺🇳🇴 On the meeting at the Embassy of Russia with Norwegian school students
On 24 September, the Russian Embassy in Norway hosted an educational event for Norwegian schoolchildren dedicated to the history of the Cold War.
🎥 As part of the meeting, students from one of Oslo's secondary schools were presented with a Russian documentary film ‘The Caribbean Crisis. Afterword" by the Russian Historical Society (screenplay by Natalia Spiridonova), specially adapted by Embassy's diplomats for demonstration to a Norwegian audience. Afterwards, the guests took part in a discussion on the causes and consequences of key events of that period.
The event confirmed the importance of cultural and educational exchange between our countries and our mutual interest in shared history.
As a Norwegian defence news journalist I’m curious to know who those "leaders" are. The US frigates were generally considered by experts to be the least suitable option.
I visited Norway earlier this year. Leaders told me they had initially favored a US bid for the frigates. Trump's comments about "kill switches" alarmed Norwegians that the US was no longer a trustworthy supplier of equipment to defend Norway against Trump's friends in Russia.
Timothy Snyder in FT: Putin grounds his war on Ukraine in a myth.
He uses a medieval Kyiv chronicle, The Tale of Bygone Years, as prophecy. He claims it proves Russia and Ukraine share “the same roots” and Moscow must rule Kyiv.
Snyder proves the claim is absurd. 1/
