I always joke im an elderly woman in a 20 something's body but today I worked on crocheting and then I slipped and fell in the tub so I'd say it's confirmed
So TLDR if you are a resident, maybe warn your patients not to go to @Walgreens. Apparently they won’t let us care for our patients like they do all other medical professionals
#medtwitter
apparently @Walgreens will no longer fill Rx for controlled substances ordered by resident physicians. Because will only fill them from “real doctors”. But they will accept Rxs from NP’s and PAs. Guess my patient with terminal cancer will have to wait longer for their meds.
This story is unfortunately not unique. But it’s still infuriating at this happens over and over again. Insurance companies should be ashamed. @UHC@UnitedHealthGrp@askUHC I look forward to getting some answers because I will be getting the care my grandpa deserves. /6
@UHC denied my grandpa’s coverage for acute rehab. He recently underwent an AKA 2/2 limb ischemia. He is healing well, has impressed his healthcare team daily with his strength and capabilities. He enthusiastically participates in his PT in the hospital and is determined /1
Despite this, I am shocked at how I am still at a loss of what to do to help my own family member navigate this next hurdle. We go into this field and dedicate our lives to helping our patients only to be told by insurance companies what we can and cannot do for them. /5
The abortion law in Canada in the 1969 and more recently in Ireland were both changed because of empathy. In Canada, the coroner of Ontario was so damn sick of seeing dead women he held an inquest for every abortion death. Wanted the public to see the carnage. 1/
Early on in the Covid pandemic, there were lots of articles about how the 1918 flu disappeared from our collective memory and the historical record. Alfred Crosby famously called it "America's Forgotten Pandemic" in his 1989 book.
A short 🧵 1/
Three weeks ago, I had a miscarriage. I was six weeks pregnant. I live in Texas, a state that has effectively banned abortions.
A thread about what it is to cease to be pregnant in a state where abortions are banned:
Healthcare is a human right. Privacy is a human right. Abortion is health care and privacy, and it is a human right. No person’s life should ever be sacrificed for a pregnancy.
My name is Dr. Sydnee Smirl McElroy and I am excited to announce today my candidacy for the WV House of Delegates 26th District. https://t.co/u7b6XAdQi9
It’s not too late to cancel your NYE party plans. If you’re feeling anxious/unsafe, just get a pizza & watch the ball drop at home. Your friends/family will forgive you. Better to regret eating too much pizza than being part of a Covid superspreading event.
Happy New Year!🍕🎆🎊
Adoption is an alternative to parenting. Abortion is an alternative to pregnancy. If you do not want to be pregnant, adoption isn't relevant to the conversation. Pregnancy can be a dangerous endeavor and we can't force people to go through it.
