Everyone wants someone else to tell them what’s gonna happen in the market

The cold hard truth is nobody freaking knows if number is gonna go up or down tomorrow, or next week

The smartest people I know, all admit that they can’t predict the future and they don’t pretend to read tea leaves

If anyone is telling you with even a modicum of confidence or certainty that “this is the bottom” or “we go down a lot further from here first”, ignore tf out of them

Tomorrow number will go up, down, or stay mostly the same

The same is true for the day after

You can begin to have confidence about what might happen over several months, and certainly over several years, but god help anyone who has a high degree of confidence in what might happen to prices over the next week

(There are gonna be 1000s of people who make predictions and get them right, and survivorship bias will make your brain think they’re geniuses. They’re not, they just got lucky and are seen as even more lucky bc most people don’t remember the times they got it wrong)

p.s if this market has you down and depressed or anxious or losing sleep, it means a) you’re over invested and b) you should take a few days off and come back with a clear head and fix your portfolio 🫡
