JD Vance: "I think Nixon's historical legacy is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, and deservedly so. I joked that if Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12 hours news story. The idea that it took down a presidency is crazy."
The Reflecting Pool is a perfect metaphor for the Trump administration:
- Ignore experts and science
- Overspend
- Declare early, historic victory
- "THE LEFT HATE THIS"
- Ends in total failure
- Unfounded conspiracies about sabotage
- MAGA pretends it doesn't actually matter
BREAKING: Iran rejects Axios new claim that FM Araghchi is traveling to Switzerland Saturday for negotiations, saying no meeting or negotiations will take place and no delegation will attend now or in the future unless Article 13 of the MOU is fully implemented first, per Tasnim.
Article 13 requires the US to first implement an immediate end to all military operations in Lebanon including permanent Israeli withdrawal, issue Treasury waivers for Iranian oil and financial transactions, and release all frozen Iranian funds up to $100 billion. Unless the US fulfills these demands, all negotiations including nuclear remain cancelled.
It’s so much fun watching #MAGA (rightfully) come unwound about this MOU with Iran. It’s taken 10 years, but they FINALLY see the Emperor has no clothes.
Tell them just to hang in there. Our Republican Senate is trying to negotiate an Ukraine aid package with our Republican President (who’s way to busy with his ballroom, pool and UFC fight). I’m sure something will happen any day. Just hang in there.
💔 Nearly 1,000 years of faith, history, and survival stood here.
Tonight, Russian strikes set fire to the grounds of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of Ukraine’s most revered spiritual and cultural treasures.
Empires fell. Wars came and went. The Lavra endured.
Now, flames consume what generations fought to preserve.
Before After
BREAKING: President Trump says the US will be "hitting Iran very hard tonight" and announces that the US will be "taking Kharg Island" in the "not too distant future."
President Trump also says the US will "assume total control" of Iran's oil and gas markets, "much like we have with Venezuela."
🚨BREAKING: TRUMP JUST HAD HIS WORST MELTDOWN EVER.
Trump completely unravels when Kristen Welker challenged him on his California election claims.
Instead of providing evidence, he called her "crooked" and "stupid," attacked the press, and abruptly WALKS OUT in the middle of the interview.
She did what every journalist should do every time Trump spews his unfounded bullsh*t.
Thank you, Kristen.
Seems like a good day to reflect on America’s history of standing with good over evil. Like Bacon said, it’s been 18 months. This WH is not serious. I don’t see our @RepMcCormick’s name on the list. I’d love to know why.
Last night we had a choice to vote on the side of good or evil. It was a Churchill moment and the House sided with freedom. House leadership says they’re pro-Ukraine but that this bill had flaws. We’ve waited 18 months and they’ve done nothing. I look forward to the Speaker submitting a better bill. If he’s serious. I was tired of the excuses…history is being written and it will be a dark chapter if we don’t help Ukraine win.

Forget waiting for the WH on Russian sanctions. This WH is already proven itself totally neutered when it comes to holding Russia accountable for anything. @RepMcCormick do the right thing and support the discharge bill.
NEW — Speaker Mike Johnson urged House Republicans to vote NO on the Dem-led Russia sanctions discharge bill on the floor Thursday, during their closed door meeting this morning, per sources
He cited his disapproval for the discharge aspect, but also told House Rs the Senate is continuing to negotiate Russia sanctions with the WH — and they should give them space to do that
GLENN GROTHMAN and others raised deep frustrations in the closed-door meeting about several Republicans bucking leadership to force a floor vote on the Russia sanctions and Ukraine aid bill — and other pro-labor and more legislation
GROTHMAN said he always votes with leadership against the discharge bills - but said he may like some of the underlying bills
Several dozen conflicted House Rs are mulling how to vote on the Russia sanctions bill now
Johnson said in response to Grothman’s inquiry/venting to oppose the Russia sanctions bill full stop
