VIOLENT tornado damage north of Kouts, Indiana, from the high-end EF3 tornado on June 11. Estimated winds of 165 mph tore through a farmstead, completely destroying a home, scouring fields, and toppling and tossing transmission towers. This was an incredibly powerful tornado, producing some of the most extreme damage I’ve seen firsthand.
Some of the food I had in San Antonio, some of the best I’ve ever had!

Pretty impressive ground “scouring” and mud caking from the Washburn, Illinois tornado from yesterday, June 11. It was incredible seeing this up close, by far the strongest tornado damage I’ve come across.
For the first time since Hurricane Helene, what was the Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach has formally reopened as ‘The Luce’ 🏖️
The new property includes a total renovation, new restaurant/bar named Sundrop, and a new identity. Here’s a sneak peek —> @bn9

Interesting that there are two waves moving up the east coast from the Cuba quake. That is exactly what I felt in St. Pete FL.: A rolling wave then slight break then another one. The whole thing lasted maybe a minute.
Here we observe the seismic waves racing out across North America from the recent very anomalous M6.1 reverse thrust earthquake that struck just off the west coast of Cuba. Weak shaking/jolts were felt across Cuba, Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, and most of Florida.

My hurricane season PSA on long-range deterministic model posting. 7 days plus is fantasy land, as illustrated by last season's stats. Here's the verification that a storm actually formed when they show up at 168 hours out in both the GFS and ECMWF. GFS is a fantasy hurricane machine, and while the EURO is better, it is still not great for this time range. Patterns are good to look at, especially in the ensembles, but specific storm details are not. #tropics
@troptoberfest Most people that hate on the Trop have never been. I remember when my wife and I went for the first time, I was surprised how great it was, and it’s her favorite stadium to see a game at.
One thing that’s been lost culturally is the satisfaction of hanging up on someone. You’d slam this fucker down and if you were mad enough you might even get a little “ding” from the ringer. Trust me when I say it felt fucking great.
2026 and 1997 are El Niño twins. But they didn't always look alike.
Subsurface ocean warmth developed faster in 1997, but 2026 caught up following a record-breaking Kelvin wave that formed in April.
A new westerly wind burst into June will keep these two years neck and neck.
