@Martyupnorth_2 @opposabledumb I dunno. I have solar, do 99% of my charging at home and only ever use public chargers on vacation trips. I do an average of 25,000KM a year so average commuter. Electrical grid goes down, I'm still good. Nice not relying on "the system" for some things. 🤷♂️
@theJagmeetSingh Had to finally unfollow you. Everyday it's the same broken record tweets "blaming" while you continue to support a government that is actively destroying Canada. Jack Layton did so much for the NDP in creating a real 3rd alternative and you've destroyed it.
The presidents of @Harvard, @MIT, and @Penn were all asked the following question under oath at today’s congressional hearing on antisemitism:
Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment?
The answers they gave reflect the profound moral bankruptcy of Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth.
Representative @EliseStefanik was so shocked with the answers that she asked each of them the same question over and over again, and they gave the same answers over and over again.
In short, they said:
It ‘depends on the context’ and ‘whether the speech turns into conduct,’ that is, actually killing Jews.
This could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in the Congress, certainly on the topic of genocide, which to remind us all is:
“the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group”
The presidents’ answers reflect the profound educational, moral and ethical failures that pervade certain of our elite educational institutions due in large part to their failed leadership.
Don’t take my word for it.
You must watch the following three minutes. By the end, you will be where I am.
They must all resign in disgrace.
If a CEO of one of our companies gave a similar answer, he or she would be toast within the hour.
Why has antisemitism exploded on campus and around the world?
Because of leaders like Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth who believe genocide depends on the context.
To think that these are the leaders of Ivy League institutions that are charged with the responsibility to educate our best and brightest.
On the bright side, our congressional leaders deserve accolades for showing tremendous leadership and moral clarity in their statements, by the questions they asked, and the respectfulness with which they conducted the hearing.
It was a masterclass of how our government and democracy should operate.
If you have time, please watch the entire hearing. Throughout the hearing, the three behaved like hostile witnesses, exhibiting a profound disdain for the Congress with their smiles and smirks, and their outright refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no answer.
@mattdagley I come off the 102 and stay in the outside(right) lane for that reason. That said, I've seen the advance at the second entrance in "not functioning" and cause more backups. Sometimes, I just go into Kent's parking lot as to go straight. Brutal design and infrastructure failings.
@ambermac I have a Facebook account for Marketplace only and a couple of "interest" groups like my subdivision. Other than that, it's a trash platform. I use Reddit/X/Apple News for actual news links. That said, Facebook doesn't have to do anything they don't want to. Private Co after all.
@HfxExaminer@zwoodford It's been a RECORD year for ransomware (half a BILLION so far paid in 2023) and these guys lose over 400 laptops? So many questions. Were accounts lock ASAP, did the employees report the loss ASAP. Was local storage allowed on these laptops for HRM data?
@fumano I moved from Vancouver area to the east coast and stuff like this is why. My middle class subdivision of 700 homes has "2" day care centers (50 - 75 at each one) and the community does everything to support them and we'd probably add a third with no objections from the community.
@Tablesalt13 I have a child going into university next month to become an RN and eventually a practitioner that we desperately need here. I already told said child to leave Canada as soon as they're done. As far as I'm concerned, this country has failed it's youth.
@CBCNS Wait, I thought the N.S. Community Services Minister said this was just normal summer time camping and folks "looking for that outlet and freedom to be outside" and really nothing to worry about.🤷♂️We'll have this all figured out when we hit 2 million in 2060 I'm sure, right?
@dockevinmcleod My wife wanted to make a career change and applied to the RN degree program and was rejected. Told they take ~150 and get over 1000 applicants. She's halfway through the LPN program now with a 97% average but would have preferred to have been an RN for more responsibility/salary.
@JeremyLongmire@CTVAtlantic I'm visiting your province and originally from BC. This is exactly what we did back there and keeps breaking records for the wrong reasons. You need addiction treatment centers full stop and more mental health services to prevent people getting on drugs in the first place.
@Tim_Bousquet @joan_baxter "He notes that after World War II and the Vietnam War, there was an explosion in the development of herbicides that were used to kill off deciduous species and manage forests for softwood species industry was looking for." - Holy that's sad!
@HRMFireNews At around 4:15pm I guess it was someone posted to our FB subdivision group mega thread on the fires a screen cap of a tweet from RCMP to evacuate. The actual alert came an hour later or something (our family was in the plaza by that point).
@Scarlette_GenZ I'm in the effected area but on a 400' deep well as are most of the neighbours. I believe most will have a Bentonite grout at the well head to prevent ground water making it's way into the reservoir. Shallow wells totally different. I will be having my water tested though.
@hhuo213 The Google Aug 2022 street view shows 2 or 3 properties there as a land assembly. So I guess they bought a couple there and thought they hit the jackpot if they re-listed together or something else going on? 😏
@gmail @Katie_Marie82 @gmail My partner and I's two personal email accounts are having the same issue. 80% of messages are going to spam including Gmail's "security alerts"!! This started happening on May 2. Creating non stop filters and using the Spam folder as the inbox. Business account is fine.
