Prof @makaumutua how much compensation money will your team of experts offer Davis for the torture?
The elite are always the enablers of these practices. They set up nice sounding commissions and committees to give cover for gross violations of human rights and human dignity.
I'm going to say something today that I will repeat in 2027 after the election: The Soul of Kenya will need all hands on deck. We are seriously sick as a culture, and the work ahead of us now and then, is immense. All of us must find our part and pull.

No one cares of Literary Skills of Justice Kiage if they are used to BLEED THE CONSTITUTION, the Safaricom shares Ruling is an Executive Decision. The Judge President & the entire court must self reflect on the cossy relationship with the Executive, the Attorney General & the state organs. We cannot have a court discriminating litigants based on whether you have ever seen Sheria House or not. Rule 5(2)(b) applications being fastracked & heard in two weeks in some demonic speed to always satisfy the AG on giving them whatever they want. Ordinary litigants will wait for their Rule 5(2)(b) applications, some even 8 months. The Court of Appeal should tell us if they are back to be the Nyayo Court. We cannot have a court where a few benches are very arrogant to litigants, but Extremely excited when the state is before it. All their applications are Certified Urgent, heard in Full at submissions & not the common 5 minutes they grant to ordinary litigants even in weighty matters. If we do not Act, very soon we will end up with an ogre in the Name of the Court of Appeal. Litigants even fear the Court than the Supreme Court!
Ye Deathbed of Progressive Jurisprudence emanating from our Constitution, reflect and change otherwise we will say these things. We defend the Judiciary any day, because of the 3 Arms, it is the only one with some signs of life, we shall criticise it when it veers, for the same reasons.
This is Davis Lichuma.
As a firm believer in the Constitution and the rights and freedoms it grants to every Kenyan, he always has a copy with him during demonstrations.
He was picked up during last Thursday's remembrance of those we've lost in the liberation struggle, and found at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi. He's
A defender of the constitution now needs us to defend him. #FreeDavisLichuma
Yesterday’s attempted abduction of Standard Group Associate Editor Alex Kiprotich is a deeply disturbing incident that should alarm every Kenyan who values democracy, constitutionalism and the rule of law.
Coming barely a day after President William Ruto launched a public social media attack on the Standard Group PLC, the timing raises more serious questions that demand swift, transparent and independent investigations. What was the main motive?

Looks like judges in our two superior courts attended a seminar where they were told the US Supreme Court is a political court, after which they said, “say no more”, and left.

This wonderful ruling by the High Court stopping the sale of Government shares in Safaricom has been stayed by the Court of Appeal. In simple terms, Safaricom can now proceed with the planned sale.
