Ecology, wildlife and conservation keep me busy. Dining, birding and photography keep me sane. Every now and again, a perfect espresso is the icing on the cake.
@lenoretaylor The specific question I'm yet to see answered in any coverage of the proposed tracking app: will it be open source so that we can have independent verification that it functions exactly as the government says it does? #privacy#security#auspol#Covid_19#COVID19au@EFF
Did you know that the online IBSA portal has over 265 flora and fauna surveys for you to explore? Helping you learn more this International Day for Biological Diversity! @_WABSI#IBD2019#Biodiversityday https://t.co/WdR45HjSAM
@k_medbury@FriendsWGP Just spent the last week meandering through WGP country. Nuytsland and Cape Arid. Absolutely beautiful. Sadly, vast, vast areas have been burnt and rendered unsuitable habitat (for many things, not just WGP). Great loss.
Had a great time in the Mallee helping @KateLSenior with her pitfall trapping the other week. Unfortunately no small mammals, but plenty of cool reptiles! #WildOz
.@Laughlin_DC on establishing references for #restorationecology - historical conditions can be used in many cases, but trait-based targets are more generalizable. His plenary a great start to the day at #SERA2018. @SERAustral
Thanks @MaksymPolyakov. Very happy to have been able to talk about IBSA https://t.co/2SDiB7o4qh at #sera2018 (thanks @SERAustral!). Looking forward to today's programme, there are some great speakers lined up. https://t.co/QEIXL1ORzr
"Maintenance of indigenous knowledge and cultural practice is becoming urgent." - Gerry Turpin outlines the activities of the @aust_trop_herb Tropical Indigenous Ethnobotany Centre. #SERA2018@SERAustral
.@TanqRen presenting the @ARC_CMSR and @_WABSI Completion Criteria project for mine site rehabilitation, at #SERA2018. Very complex project with significant stakeholder input, will be a great benefit to WA when done. @SERAustral#restorationecology
Fascinating #SERA2018 plenary talk by @MaksymPolyakov on the valuation of #ecosystem services as relevant to #restorationecology. There's a sweet spot for revegetating agricultural landscapes - restoration and production can coexist and deliver economic benefits! @SERAustral
Just touched down in #Brisbane for #SERA2018. I'm excited! Ready to learn all about what's cutting edge in #restoration#ecology right now - and hopefully get some of that warm and sunny #Queensland weather while I'm at it :-P
Spent the weekend out at #WonganHills, mostly looking for #wildflowers but also just to get out of #Perth. Beautiful! The area has had a great season. Orchids galore, birds going off, even the farmland looking good. So green and lots of water still about. #camping#Australia#4x4
