@paulspacey Those are the same clubs & coaches that hold on to their players instead of moving them along to the next level when they’re ready. We talk about player development a lot in this country, but at the end of the day, there aren’t many coaches that will let go of their top players
@paulspacey We’re still picking athleticism over brains at every level. I don’t think I saw any clever combinations against Mexico. Maybe 1. We have a problem identifying soccer IQ.
@Don_K_Williams@hearsayservices Agreed, decision making has to be prioritized from a young age. May need to overindex on the buildout early on with decision making layered on top. Teams have to be able to play with all players.
@Don_K_Williams@hearsayservices Punting at 7v7 is a dangerous form of attack. At 11v11 often leads to turnover. I'd love to see the analytics of what % of time the ball is turned over with a punt. If you learn to build out early, you have a higher % chance of getting into ATT half in possession.
@Don_K_Williams I’m struggling to understand what this really means. In NorCal, if this is CalNleth being added, it’s the B teams from the MLS Next clubs (which is already run by CalNorth)
@paulspacey Any idea of whether high school aged players will be grandfathered in to staying on existing teams or if they’ll be forced to go down to the younger age group (for the Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec kids)?
