Relevant from Steve Pagliuca when Wyc sold Celtics to Bill Chisholm:
“We made a fully guaranteed and financed offer at a record price. We had no debt or private equity money that would potentially hamstring our ability to compete in the future.” https://t.co/wnxRU8eZ8e.
"The Bill Chisholm era has been filled with nothing but cost cutting since he purchased the team less than a year ago. It’s one thing to pass on signing Brown to that two-year, $141 million deal he was eligible for later this month, and it’s another to send him to a conference rival to boost its championship chances while you’re left with a 36-year-old who was suspended 25 games last season for violating the league’s drug policy." @GwashburnGlobe . https://t.co/fqx4pQo4Ax
Shoutout to @dafoomie for the highlight package that perfectly encapsulates Patrice Bergeron's greatness, 200 foot domination. "Patrice Bergeron Under the Radar Highlights." Also, Kessel squaking "F*ck You Bergy?" at the 2:40 mark as Bergeron strips him of the puck is hilarious.
Congrats to this legend on retirement. One of the best leaders the game has seen. I could not have asked for a better teammate to come into the league with and I’m proud of all our success together over the years.
Xander Bogaerts hasn't been worth the money ... but he's still been better than Trevor Story - which means the Red Sox opted to sign a cheaper and lesser player, though they could have had Bogaerts for the same price if they had acted earlier. And they might have avoided the entire Rafael Devers breakdown.
Love Newhook going to the hard areas and getting rewarded. But… I cannot stand these kids scoring goals and then blatantly skating by their teammates to celebrate alone. If you go through 5 guys and score then go ahead and do your thing. Any other scenario give your teammates some love. Especially in playoffs! #team

Matthew Tkachuk talking about Connor Hellebuyck's save on Connor McDavid's breakaway in the 2nd period of the Gold Medal game on @Wingmenpod:
“The best player in the world is Connor McDavid. Top to bottom, there’s nobody like him — there’s probably never been anybody like him in history. It was kind of like it could’ve been a changing of the guard in Canada, with Crosby being out and him coming down on the breakaway. If he scores that goal, he’s the Canadian hero who gets them back in it, and they ultimately have a good chance at that point. I think it was 1–1 or whatever it was.
He comes down, and Helly just outwaits him — confident, calm, just chill in the crease — and makes an incredible breakaway save that gave us so much mental momentum. The best player in the world is coming down on a breakaway, and he just shuts the door on him.”
