"I just read about the 2021 Niger election that produced Mohamed Bazoum. Here are some interesting facts

- The major contender, Hama Amadou was disqualified from being on the ballot

- Bazoum did not win a majority of vote, he did not meet the constitutional requirement, a run-off election was conducted between the 1st and 2nd, the run-off election had a much lower turnout

- Following the elections, protesters demanded the government resign and the result be recounted. Two people were killed during the demonstrations on 25–26 February, 2021 when police fired tear gas at protesters

- Bazoum’s party, PNDS did not win a majority at the National assembly

- On 31 March, 2021 a coup attempt was launched by dissident soldiers two days before Bazoum's inauguration but was thwarted, leading to the inauguration pushing through on 2 April

- July 2023, Bazoum was deposed from office after a coup d'état led by members of the presidential guard and the armed forces."

Open Letter to the Southwest States of Nigeria 🇳🇬:
2023 election 🗳️ has done a lot of damage to our country and pitched neighbors against neighbor, brother against sister, husband against wife, tribe against another tribe, even religion has not been spared. But what is clear from the last 5 weeks is that the southwesterners are strong, brave and determined to not change into what Bola Tinubu and APC has tried to forced on you.
Yorubas are one of the most welcoming and supportive people in this country. Some will argue that this has to do with the prevalence of education in your rich and progressive region, as well as the diversity, beauty and ingenuity . The great Awolowo saw what education could do and introduced it to your awesome region early and the dividends are inexhaustible today to our country as a collective. Nigeria 🇳🇬 is stronger and better today because of the good people of Yoruba ethic group.

You came out strongly for the New Nigeria 🇳🇬 project sold by ObiDatti along with millions of other Nigerians across the country. You voted for character, competence and credibility. You rejected self entitlement and decided it was the turn of you and your children and the Ordinary Nigerian across the length Ms breath of this country.
However, It was only a few hours into the night at INEC collation centers when APC struck! They stole your votes 🗳️, just like they did in the other regions of Nigeria 🇳🇬, using violence, bribery, voter intimidation and outright suppression tactics.

What is clear is that we cannot accept what has happened to our mandate across the country by machete welding terrorist who brought tribalism into our polity in ways we have never seen before, at least since 1999 resumption of this democratic era.

I therefore call on all well meaning citizens of our dear nation Nigeria 🇳🇬 who are from or reside in Southwest Nigeria, to come out in a massive peaceful protest 🪧 to register their displeasure and disapproval at the miscarriages of justices, brazen rigging and violence that has become pervasive in our country. The massacre of innocent Labour Party voters across Lagos on March 18th 2023 is fresh proof that APC is evil and must be resisted across southwest Nigeria 🇳🇬 and indeed across Nigeria 🇳🇬.

Come out my beloved southwest brothers and sisters, lovers of democracy, peace and justice. Let your voices be heard.
