Jobs just printed 162k. Nobody was close to that number.
Consensus was 55k. July even got revised up.
Yields ripped. Gold dumped almost 2%. Bitcoin got clipped.
Growth names caught the first wave of selling — $NVDA $TSLA $SNOW getting hit. Higher rates crush those multiples.
$MSTR $COIN following crypto lower.
$LULU already got destroyed on guidance. This just adds fuel.
Gold miners — $NEM getting smoked with the metal.
$JPM $BAC holding up better. Like they should. Banks actually like a little more rate.
My take:
This print is strong, but it ain't the end of the world.
One hot jobs number doesn't lock in a September hike. We still need next week's CPI and the wage data inside this report wasn't screaming out of control.
The market just got a little too comfortable after Waller talked.
This is a reminder the labor market still has some juice left. Doesn't mean we go back to 2022 rate panic.
I'm not buying the dip in the high flyers yet. Let yields settle first.
If the 10Y stays elevated — $NVDA and the rest stay heavy.
If this fades by Monday — it was just a one-day reset.
Watch the 2Y more than the headlines. That's the real tell right now.

solana:GoLDppdjB1vDTPSGxyMJFqdnj134yH6Prg9eqsGDiw6A just punched through $4,500 an ounce. When I was young, an ounce of gold could buy a decent used car and still leave you with change. Now they’re talking forty-five hundred bucks like it’s nothing. It isn’t the gold that changed. It’s the money. Today it jumped because the dollar got a little softer and Treasury yields backed off their highs. Folks are sitting around waiting on the jobs number, so they parked some cash in something that doesn’t talk back. That’s about https://t.co/WsAtFd8CvX doesn’t pay you a dime. It just sits there. After watching prices climb my whole life, I’ll take “sits there” over a lot of promises.Don’t chase it. $4,500 ain’t a finish line and it sure as hell ain’t a pension. If you’ve got a little extra and it helps you sleep, fine. Don’t throw the grocery money at it, and don’t listen to anybody telling you it’s going to double next week. What scares an old man isn’t gold going up. It’s watching the dollars in your pocket get lighter every year.
