@Jsy_Bean@JEPnews Didn’t you know that? Processes in education are not for the good of the kids either, it is to protect management and their job is to protect the heads and their job to protect the Ed Dept.
@carolvorders In 2008 The government took all the money for schools, hospitals, pensions and public transport & gave it to the banks. Successive corrupt governments have robbed the people & bailed out black holes created by theft from their private friends. So this is the outcome! Surprised?
@ProfBrianCox @Dave_RB82 People forget, we were blocked from joining twice by France, before ransoming our fishing industry. We shared our aeronautical industry which was taken over by France & Germany, Dutch took our ship yards & trashed our beef. Car & steel industry is German -finance farming?

@StuartLock Clearly not hearing what was said on this thread & not listening to the professionals genuine concerns. Not debate, just smug postering. This is why the professions in a mess “my schools” sounds egocentric enough for my point. Never disappointed with lack of genuine debate here!
@StuartLock Idealistic but not reality. Lessons have always been “graded” by management to protect SLT from being judged poorly by Ofsted to protect Heads who protects the LEA /academy. Standards are measured. Do we measure what we value or value what we measure? Mental health, well being?
@StuartLock I was told 25 years ago that burnout rate was 20-25% a year & at anyone time half the profession want to leave. Little has changed except going into someone’s classroom was to see good practice & now good practice is seen on Twitter by self promoters. 25 years is a miracle.
@StuartLock I have seen support misused, abused or wasted by supporting staff needing retraining. As for outstanding Stuart - it’s irrelevant. I left the profession 2 years ago after finally having enough of the excessive workload, intrusive management culture and everything mentioned here
@StuartLock Have you regularly seen solicitors, airline pilots, surgeons, dentists, stonemasons “supported” in their jobs by being inspected with a clipboard manager? I know what “support” is and can be used for. Btw my last 20 plus observations where outstanding. The last 20 SLT WERE NOT.
@StuartLock For what it’s worth you have displayed the sort of ridiculous attitude inspiring teachers to leave the profession in their droves. It is not only intrusive & intimidating but sends a clear message that no one’s is trusted & everyone is undermined- except of course “management”
@Dr_DeanS 30 years of wage growth has gone towards bankers bonuses, bailouts and drinking money from public purses to private pockets and corporate share prices. If they closed hospitals and sold them to banks for redevelopment it would at least be honest theft
@Trivium21c@oldandrewuk @CurlyMan66 What a great article- shows that the original meaning of the word holds more truth than the “evolved meaning” it is an actual sickness of untreated/ unchecked. Homesickness is not just a feeling!
@Trivium21c@oldandrewuk @CurlyMan66 The word nostalgia means the same today as it sadly meant thousands of years ago. You will see so if you look back in history so sadly you are wrong. Makes me homesick.
@oldandrewuk @CurlyMan66 You are a dick - old fellow or penis, several meanings there but I shall burn dictionaries and in a state of flux make this mean a type of elder statesmen or a cheese? You choose - let’s just reinvent meaning?
@oldandrewuk @CurlyMan66 Your arguments are irrational and it seems just opinion. That is after all how your thread started on your option of what defines a teacher, who is qualified and who should (in your opinion) have a voice. Hmmm The joys & wisdom of discussion on twitter. One day this will cost £8
