The biggest problem, obviously, is attribution. A huge demand shock ended GWB's tenure and a huge supply shock ended DJT's. The important thing for Dems is that it's demonstrably untrue that the economy is better under GOP control and stop letting them have that ground.

One thing that has long confused me is why the American public - and this polls consistently - believes that Republican leadership, specifically the president, is much better for the US economy then Democrats.

The world's second-best economy is the US under Republicans; the best is under Democratic leadership. It's amazing to me that Dems don't hammer this home and make it a core part of their message.
