@AmesStraight Unfortunately, in most states, a pet is considered a piece of property and the law will only provide the value of the pet as compensation in a lawsuit. The best course of action is administrative -- go after the doctor and the practice with the licensing boards.

Stop pretending politicians happen to us.
We elect them.
Every corrupt politician, every attack on our rights, every disastrous policy, every act of cruelty carried out by our government was made possible because voters handed someone the power to do it.
Politicians are responsible for their actions. But voters are responsible for deciding whether they get to keep the power to continue.
If someone shows you they are corrupt, incompetent, cruel, or unfit for office and you vote for them anyway, you donโt get to pretend you had nothing to do with what comes next.
Democracy comes with responsibility.
We hired them.
We can fire them.
And when we refuse to, we own the consequences.
@DallasTexasTV For those who freak out without actually finding out the facts, you have to have completed TSA precheck in order to do this. https://t.co/IkteouIzvj
@DocHalston Big time. Folks spent a few days talking about Dolly's kindness, and then the world went right back to venom. I really thought we were making progress, and the last 15 years or so have proven that it was all just illusion. If I had the funds, I'd move to another country.
๐จ BREAKING: Republican Congressman Mike Collins signals his intent to end Social Security:
"[Old people need to] get off of Social Security [and] get back into the workforce."
Project 2025 didnโt hide its plans for Americaโs public lands and wildlife. It put them on paper.
Expand drilling, mining and logging. Strip back environmental reviews. Weaken endangered-species protections. Reduce national monuments. Undercut the Antiquities Act. And change federal law so the Bureau of Land Management has greater authority to dispose of wild horses and burros.
These animals arenโt inconveniences standing in the way of profit. They are part of Americaโs natural heritage.
Public lands belong to the public, not to whichever industry can extract the most money from them.
And when the consequences arrive, remember: the blueprint came first, and never forget it was the voters that gave them the power to do this
