Never do too much
You should never have to do too much in this life
Shouldn’t have to; shout for your voice to be heard, tell everyone what you’re on, insult people, put others down to boost yourself, overcompensate etc.
You’ve already lost when you start doing too much 😌
ITV coverage of England v Norway starts at 8.45pm. That's one hour and 15 minutes before kick-off.
That's like in 1999, when ITV gave Bayern v United at the Nou Camp one hour, 15 minutes.
Oh no sorry, my mistake. They gave it FIFTEEN MINUTES. On air at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm KO.
One thing that has cringed me out this World Cup is seeing people refer to players as “World Cup players”
The constant categorisation of players generally annoys me but that is just taking the mick 🤮🤮🤮
@melumeze but bro it’s true cos it’s a completely different discussion as they’re two separate entities, yes they’re interlinked but I was very specific with what I said initially
Slandering CR7 ≠ slandering CR7 cultists
I love CR7, it’s his cultists that I’ve always had an issue with
Everyone knows football is a team game, you’ve mentioned it here to mask CR7’s individual failings
I repeat, it’s an ongoing debate that I comment on as a fan of both
Nobody has denied the existence of the rivalry, you’ve tried to label me a Messi cultist in which you was wrong
@mikefat9 you’re showing your contempt and bias. football is always a team game. can’t win by themselves, but both CR7 and Messi get headlines when they score/win.
thank you for acknowledging there isn’t a Messi v Ney rivalry, inadvertently admitting the Messi v CR7 rivalry you fed into
@melumeze nobody involved CR7 though, I specifically mentioned his cultists
You’re the one that’s brought up the CR7 vs Messi debate cos you’re choosing to read what you wanna see instead of what I’ve actually said
All of this is true in general but I find it hilarious that it suddenly matters now
These are two of the best players ever and as a result they will be the first port of call when their team win/lose, you’re not new to this
@mikefat9 team performance determines outcomes. CR7 could’ve played badly & advanced if his team performed well, while Messi could’ve played well & been eliminated if his team struggled. therefore, saying “Messi succeeded where CR7 failed” attributes a collective result to an individual…
@melumeze the rivalry has always been there, and without being pedantic I don’t act like CR7 cultists particularly as they tell lies on both players and try to rewrite past events
Again, it’s an ongoing debate that I comment on as a FAN of both players, not a cultist of neither 🙏🏾
Only a team game until CR7 bags and he makes all the headlines
Good thing he didn’t only play vs Spain then as he pretty much replicated the same showing vs Congo and could only get his game off vs Uzbekistan
And why would I mention Neymar ?
“Messi vs Neymar” isn’t a thing 😕
@mikefat9 and for what it’s worth this isn’t a CR7 defence but it’s a team game. Portugal were eliminated by Spain, a top team. Argentina, another top team, survived against Egypt, who are a significantly worse side.
secondly, I haven’t heard you say Messi succeeded where Neymar failed.
@melumeze this has been happening on both ends right from the start of the tournament
It isn’t cultist behaviour, neutrals compare the two all the time
We are talking about two of the biggest/best players this sport has seen in the biggest competition in the world at the end of the day
@melumeze yes cos in the same round a Portugal side spearheaded by CR7 went out with a wimper whilst Messi dragged his country from the brink of elimination
If CR7 had done the same then people would’ve drawn the exact same parallels with Messi, it’s only an issue now cos CR7 failed 🤷🏾♂️
@melumeze nope, just pointed out that yet again Messi succeeded where CR7 failed, couldn’t care less for the Argies
In any int’l tournament I want players I enjoy watching to play to their best
If their country benefits then so be it but that doesn’t mean I’m celebrating/supporting them
@melumeze 1) an ongoing debate that I comment on ≠ me being a Messi cultist
2) funnily it tends to be CR7 lovers who find the topic “boring” or want everyone to just enjoy them both when it’s obvious who’s better
3) I don’t support Argentina
@melumeze nope you’ve got the wrong guy brother, CR7 is my 2nd favourite footballer of all time and Messi might not even make my top 5 in that regard
I just happen to be able to accept that Messi is clearly superior despite my love for CR7
