Richard Dawkins: I understand that a personal story can be moving, but calling yourself a Christian means accepting certain beliefs.

When you sit in church listening to a vicar, don't you ever think that some of what he's saying is illogical?

Do you really believe Jesus was the Son of God, that he rose from the dead, and that he was born of a virgin? Those aren't minor details. They're fundamental to Christianity.

My own experiences led me to accept that there is a higher power the God who transformed my life.

When I listen to the vicar now, his words don't sound nonsensical to me. They make profound sense. There's ancient wisdom in them.

I used to mock faith and Christianity too. But after what I've experienced, I don't anymore.

I've reached a place of humility and realised that people with enduring faith possess something valuable.

Someone once told me: when all hope seems lost, pray. There's tremendous wisdom in that. I don't see these teachings as foolish anymore. I see them as remarkably wise.

Richard Dawkins: But Christianity has its own serious problems.

Take the doctrine of original sin the idea that we're all born carrying the sin of Adam, and that Jesus had to be punished and crucified to save humanity from its sins.

I find that theology not only nonsensical, but morally objectionable.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali: I see Christianity differently. At its core, it's about love.

As a new Christian, especially compared with my upbringing in Islam, what stands out to me is the message of redemption, renewal and rebirth.

The death and resurrection of Jesus represent that transformation the possibility of becoming new.
