Sources — A security incident concerning eMudhra’s Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) was reported in the public domain. MeitY has taken serious note of the reported incident. A special team has been constituted to investigate the matter. However, some social media accounts are indulging in fear-mongering about the impact of this incident. The facts of the case are as follows:

eMudhra operates in two distinct areas:

1. Issuance of Digital Signature Certificates and eSign services, regulated by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) under MeitY.

2. Issuance of digital certificates trusted by major browsers and operating systems, used to secure websites, software and online communications.

The second function is international in nature and operates under a global trust framework. It is governed by international standards and subject to independent audits, including WebTrust audits conducted by BDO International Limited. The reported security incident pertains to this only. MeitY is not involved in its audit. The impact of this incident on Indian websites and applications has been very limited and for a very short interval. MeitY remains engaged with all the stakeholders to resolve this incident at the earliest. CERT-In has also issued an advisory in r/o the incident, including the mitigation measures. Further details will be shared upon completion of the investigation. Important to note that Digital Signature Certificates and eSign services regulated by CCA remain completely unaffected by this incident.

How do drugs reach the youth of Punjab in the form of drug packets?

This is not possible without political patronage. Bhagwant Mann ji did one good thing by handing over an inquiry to the CBI after returning from his birthday celebrations.

I want to assure the people of Punjab that, in the case handed over to us, we will find every accused, regardless of how influential they may be, and bring them to justice. We will take them to court.

Today, I also want to appeal to the Chief Minister: if you cannot handle the situation, hand over the other two cases to the CBI as well.

As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important?

So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism.

4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate?

5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir?

Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this?

Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court.

I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel.

My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)
