In spite of some of the troubling things I see from the #Jets coaching staff—and there are many—it’s critical to keep the team’s top issue in perspective: injuries.
How would the Eagles, Niners, Fins, and Chiefs work if the attached highlighted players were currently on the shelf, most of whom lost for the season?
Sorry, but I don’t see the Eagles working properly without Hurts, Lane, Kelce, Jurgens, and Malaita. In fact, I see an atrocious offense. (Granted, comparing a healthy Jets OL to the Eagles is that of silliness, but in terms of sheer quantity, this would be the equivalent to what the Jets are currently facing.)
The Jets did build a terrific roster. Those who are walking that back are allowing themselves to be a prisoner of the emotional moment. Unfortunately, the offensive side of that roster is literally not playing. Worse yet, this (crippling injuries) happens every year.
Why? Why have they yet to at least make some sort of progress on this devastating injury front? This is the major organizational question.
Joe Douglas’s injury-prevention program has not worked. Is it just about acquiring injury-prone players? I mean, Laken has proven availability his entire career, and he continues to do so.
Availability is yet again the major black cloud hanging over this roster, and it has to be the most infuriating issue for fans in the history of the organization—considering the genuine and legit hype level coming into the season.
Look, criticism in Saleh and Douglas’s direction is warranted—as I’d be shocked if they both did not agree with that sentiment—but make sure to not lose sight of the greatest issue here, and ensure that it’s kept in perspective.
I’m one who tends to rule out LUCK as much as I possibly can, when dealing with football injuries. Because I feel as though a certain player personality improves the availability percentage to an incredible degree. So, the injuries still fall on Douglas.
Nonetheless, whatever the reason may be, for these near-fictional injuries, year over year, it must be fixed … *now*.
The NFL told the Jets that the roughing the passer penalty on John Franklin-Myers on Sunday should not have been called, according to a source. It was a legal hit.
My thoughts on Aaron Rodgers, my phone died at the stadium tonight:
What happened is unjust, unfair and simply not right. 3 snaps is disturbing, cruel and unusual
I can’t remember any similar situation of an athlete being this highly anticipated in a new place and playing this little while suffering a devastating injury
The fact that we are talking about this injury, potential replacements, and hoping for anything less than retirement is so sad and twisted
Unless the Jets literally win the Super Bowl this season, we will all have to live the rest of our lives saying “what if Rodgers didn’t tear his Achilles in 2022” and that alone is a tax and a burden on all of us
Achilles is the worst hero ever, his whole power is that his ankle is fucking stupid
May god bless you all and please take my Achilles instead

This is a powerful story told by Saints linebacker @demario__davis. A must watch!
What I was not expecting at @timkellernyc’s memorial service was that Tim chose the hymns and gave reasons why he chose each one.
Here are his rationales behind the choices, starting with beloved quotes about the Christian and death. 1/2

The @timkellernyc memorial today in NYC had a line wrapped around 50th and 5th ave. I met a man who flew from Ethiopia just to be there. What a testament to Keller’s faithfulness.
