@rcmpmb …than they should. Also, mandatory GPS trackers for commercial vehicles seems like an economical and effective method to hold drivers and owners to account.
@rcmpmb My wife and coworker described the roads as covered in black ice. They were traveling 70 while several semi trucks flew past at what seemed like 100 kph+. I wonder if the issue here is a system that pressures truckers to risk themselves and others to drive faster and longer…
@rcmpmb There were way more than 3 ppl brought to hospital in Brandon. Those in the emerge waiting room appeared to have at worst broken bones. Everyone (patients and staff) seemed to be in good spirits and were friendly when I showed up trying to find my wife.
@rcmpmb Emergency services were great and got them to main hospital in Brandon. Maternity ward checked out our unborn baby and all appears well, but mom + baby have been held here out of an abundance of caution.

@rcmpmb My pregnant wife was in the passenger seat of the smashed Camry in the photo. Both her and her coworker are OK. They stopped safely but a semi behind them was clearly traveling way too fast. It jack knifed as it ploughed them and a couple other vehicles forward.
@MrAndrewCotter enjoying the final chapters of your book while 3 labs (2 chocolate, 1 yellow) sleep on, beside and below me. Delightful downtime after 2 hours of rigorous, very competitive fetch.
@pauloafernandes Key example: price is 30% of evaluation matrix. But everyone competent scores within 10 points of each other on all the other categories (very typical) so 75% of the scoring differential is separated by price (cheapest gets all 30%, most expensive bid gets 0% in price category).
@pauloafernandes Oh @pauloafernandes I hear you. The typical rfp process has good intentions but is sorely misguided. In my experience, the scoring matrix and evaluation methodology are so arbitrary they allow issuers to direct the assignment in the direction they want
