You are correct, this is not just another app. Trump says it is bigger than the industrial revolution. He is right. Americans have always taken on big ideas. We should not be afraid of AI, but use it to its fullest. If we don’t other countries will and then what?
Remember that none of these guys is trying to help you. You have to take your destiny into your own hands. They are not your friends.
Having wasted resources on Iran and elsewhere, Trump is missing the biggest story of his presidency.
Right now, you’re talking to AI about everything, your marriage, your health, your finances, your job, your fears, your legal problems. Some of that information could potentially be sought and used against you in court.
Right now, AI is automatically eliminating thousands of people, including your children, when they apply for jobs.
Right now, Trump is saying AI will self-regulate. He doesn’t understand and doesn’t see the risk yet. This is bigger than virtually anything we’ve experienced in recent history.
Right now, you’re helping build the data centers, but you may not even be able to afford the AI they power. You don’t know what rights you have when it comes to AI. You don’t know what data AI companies should be allowed to keep. You don’t know how the government can get access to it. You don’t know what should be protected and what can be subpoenaed.
And right now, with Trump in power, he’s not seeing the magnitude of this transformational shift. Perhaps the tech guys themselves don’t yet see all the ramifications.
Journalists aren’t building AI projects themselves, so many of them don’t understand the costs. They’re using ChatGPT to get answers to questions, but they’re not investing in APIs and building their own systems to solve problems in their own industry.
They mistakenly believe these guys are going to solve those problems for them.
They won’t.
You have to understand the technology yourself. You have to build. You have to understand what it costs, what it can do, what information it collects, who controls it, and what happens when virtually every part of your life begins to run through it.
Because this isn’t just another app.
This is infrastructure.
Bernie Sanders warns that his 35 years in Congress could eventually come to an end if the SAVE America Act passes.
And he says it wouldn't stop with him. Other Democrats he respects, including AOC, could lose their seats too.
Chuck Schumer warns that if the SAVE Act is passed, Americans could see another Republican president in 2028 — and possibly Republican control for decades to come.
@CBSNews 340k people being moved before landfall is what functioning disaster prep looks like, meanwhile right wing climate geniuses will wait till the roof floats away to admit weather is real
I can't believe this is real.
The Chancellor of UC San Francisco testified under oath that a "vast majority of pregnancies are in women." Implying some pregnancies occur in men.
When asked directly whether a non-biological woman has ever had a baby, he refused to answer. This is the head of one of the top medical schools in the country.
Hochul's moratorium is a step in the right direction, but it only applies to projects larger than 50 MW. She has not yet decided whether to sign the stronger legislative bill (e.g., 20 MW, energy efficiency standards). Data centers are bad for the climate and local communities.
Be brutally honest: Are you deeply outraged that, while hundreds of millions of Americans and I are struggling financially, @elonmusk has just now become the world's first trillionaire, with more wealth than he could spend in 1,000 lifetimes? Yes or no?
I don’t understand why the administration doesn’t see this as a stalling point, so Iran can further enrich uranium for weapons. Let’s not be blind to their behavior.
BREAKING: Despite Iran completely rejecting all previous proposals over nuclear issues, Hormuz authority, frozen funds and making clear it won’t accept any of the current frameworks, the Trump administration has sent an "new, even tougher" proposal with harder demands "designed to speed up the process by putting pressure on Iran to accept," per NYT.
Trump has also been "frustrated" with how long Iran has taken to respond to US proposals and requests, mainly because Iran is rejecting Trump’s daily requests which are sent are sent almost hourly through various channels to finally accept the deal framework.
"Either MAGA extremists are going to break the country, or we're going to break them."
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries lays out what he says is the Democratic strategy against the MAGA movement — not just to defeat them in elections, but to "break their spirit” over what he described as "unacceptable" extremism.
