Burnham ran for Makerfield (a big Brexit voting area) on a promise not to pursue any "rejoin" talk.

What has he done ? The exact opposite.

I canvassed for Reform in Makerfield. The Labour voters have been lied to.

Andy Burnham lied to the people of Makerfield to become their MP.

During the by-election campaign, he repeatedly reassured voters that he would NOT seek to take Britain back into the EU.

He knew Makerfield had voted heavily to Leave. He knew exactly what he needed to say to win their trust and their votes.

Now he’s Prime Minister, the mask has slipped.

Rejoining the EU is suddenly back on the table, and Burnham is openly discussing the possibility of putting it in Labour’s 2029 manifesto.

In my view, he told the people of Makerfield what they wanted to hear to get himself back into Parliament.

That is a disgraceful abuse of voters trust.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

Judge remands him in custody until next March.
