One of my favorite Dolly stories is one Julia Roberts told about being on the set of Steel Magnolias. It was, naturally, very hot and humid, and Julia turned to Dolly and said, "Aren't you hot? With the wig and everything? Just, you know, just say it's hot!"
And Dolly looked at her and said, "When I was a little girl, I used to dream about being famous and rich, and now I'm both of those things. So I'm not going to complain."
May we all be so grateful and gracious when our dreams come true.
It’s hard to imagine living a life so well that when you die, the entire world, a world that hates each other, stops for a minute to all talk about how awesome you were.
In America, every living president: Trump, Biden, Bush, Clinton and Obama and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, current Second Lady Usha Vance
and former Vice President @KamalaHarris all paid their respects to Dolly Parton then King Charles and Prince William do this! wow 💖💕
Dolly Parton was privately battling cancer in the final days of her life.
Her representatives say the 80-year-old country music legend died following a "brief battle with cancer," revealing the diagnosis after her death. They did not disclose what type of cancer she had.
Just days before her death, Parton spoke about her recent health struggles, saying she was "still healin'" and determined to keep working.
“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched," her team said in a statement.

If a bill were introduced in the Tennessee legislature to rename Nashville’s airport Dolly Parton International, it would pass unanimously.
Let’s make it happen, fellow Tennesseans.
