@nikillinit I'm with you. Some people don't have the option (mortgage, kids, not a lot savings, yada yada) but if you're starting something like a virtual clinic that is going to bill insurance, you can just like go and do that for not much (assuming you're a doc)
@Camp4 Spent two weeks exploring Cambodia by bike & tuktuk and then balled out for 2 days in Singapore in my mid-20s. Agree completely. In fact this was part of a larger trip where we did the same with NZ backpacking + Queenstown wine & dine, same concept
@nikillinit Worth looking it across medical vs. wellness. Insomnia and sleep apnea are the two most prevalent diagnoses. Yet everyone sleeps, many people have issues with sleep (insufficient sleep), and everyone spends money on their sleep (mattresses and pillows, even 20 year old engineers)
@chrissyfarr Haha, why not both? For real, I think with self-insured employers my sleep eye mask swag unfortunately had more pull than the 6 RCTs at the time. I could just be bad at marketing π and also I know plans and providers are slightly more discerning customers, but good swag is good
@nikillinit@halletecco It will in a few states like TX and TN depending on your insurance. I think this is one of the few policy changes that is simple, has a chance of actually being implemented, and could make a real difference in people's day-to-day experience of healthcare. https://t.co/La0v4XxhGK
@StuartBlitz Yeah I've had the experience of scheduling 9 weeks out in the summer to account for everyone's vacations on the payor team, only to have a last minute vacation scheduled by one of the key decision makers. The week after Labor Day was always nice and busy though. π
@chrissyfarr@erinbrodwin Now whether these AI-based treatments of the future will be called DTx, generate clinical evidence, be cleared by the FDA, and get reimbursed as a drug or physician service, I think that is all still an open question. Far more likely we'll first see successful AI "coaches"
@chrissyfarr@erinbrodwin There are conditions and subpopulations where the human touch doesn't add much value. A growing population would rather consult an AI than a human, either due to stigma, lack of trust, generational differences, etc.
