Prosecutors are seeking a first-degree murder conviction, which carries a potential life sentence or the death penalty.

The Browns, unfortunately, still have the best edge rusher in the AFC North after the Myles Garrett-Jared Verse trade

Wow. Wow. Wow. Myles is gone. I didn’t want to believe it.

Here are my true thoughts and takes on this situation

1.) Myles Garrett will always have a place in my heart. My favorite player, the cornerstone of my favorite team. He did so much on and off the field for Cleveland, and I don’t think I can get over it….. but….

2.) The Browns were not going to win and be competitive at a consistent rate the next 2 seasons. The timeline didn’t match up well for the 2 sides.

3.) I am a HUGE Jared Verse fan. When I worked for the Falcons, and the biggest need was Edge, I wanted Verse at 8. He is a DAWG. My top edge prospect in his class.

4.) Browns still have a top 10 edge defender in the league in Verse, and he is only 25 (Myles is 30.) As I said, the timeline for Myles and the Browns were not in sync.

5.) The goal is, and has always been Brook Park. We will squeak by the next 2 seasons and build a young core of talented players. With our past 2 drafts, and with the haul of picks we have already gotten for the future, and now this one from LA, the Browns will be locked and loaded when they arrive in Brook Park.

6.) With this deal, and the vision they have created, do not be surprised if Denzel Ward is moved soon. He fits in with Myles’ timeline as well with his age, and Cleveland could get a good pick for him still. (Sadly Denzel is my second favorite player :/)

I am not happy, but I do think the haul is solid they got in return for Myles. Jared Verse is worth more than a first round pick - it would take a 1st + to get him in a trade, so when people say “They only got one 1st in it!?” It really is more. We have our edge of the future still!
