@mitchdmoore Totally fair on the down market point. Makes me think the cleanest fee model would tie directly to benchmark outperformance — if you beat it, you earn more. If you match it, the client could've indexed for next to nothing. Curious if any advisors actually structure it that way.

@mitchdmoore From a client’s perspective — the value isn’t just returns, it’s planning, behavioral coaching, and tax strategy. Those don’t scale with AUM the way your fee does. A $10M client probably isn’t getting 10x the service of a $1M client, so the tiered discount reflects that reality.
