Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in.

@DanielBundred @MatRyanELATeach Excellent reframing of an otherwise sweeping generalization above, Daniel.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@Matt_Bove Why are you in a car in London? The tube goes everywhere far and fast.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@donpaulbitsosun Stop insulting scum, Don and StICktOWEatHeR.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach @poorerthandead I think that would have taken a level of grace and self control that very few people possess. I’m willing to allow her to answer a question that was asked of her.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach @poorerthandead I know it may seem that way - that she inserted herself - but she did not. She was scheduled to be on Maddow weeks ago to promote something. It was just coincidence that her appearance crossed with the indictment news. Maddow wasn’t going to not talk about historic news.

[Ron Filipkowski @RonFilipkowski]

There is absolutely no person who has ever studied Frederick Douglass or read his writings who could possibly imagine him saying anything like this. It is disgusting that FL kids are being brainwashed and lied to like this.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Here- let’s ditch Richard 3, too! “The fact that this play is about a grown adult man murdering his brother and young nephews and wooing the wife of his enemy (whom he killed!) should be justification enough for some not to read it!” 😆 😆

[Merriam-Webster @MerriamWebster]

“Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo, buffalo Buffalo buffalo.”

The above sentence actually means something and is grammatically correct.

Come with us on this journey where the buffalo roam.

@JoePompliano A $2.3 bil. eyeball doesn’t seem to be more out of place than a golf course in the middle of a desert.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Meh…I read enough when I got to the part where he put “systems of oppression” in quotes, which is exactly what someone who has never been on the receiving end of an oppressive system, or has the capacity to investigate one, would do.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@AnnebetPettit This is great, @carlrosin - and thanks, Annebet, for amplifying it. Carl, I might be using some of your words in the tougher conversations I’ve been having lately with some students reading a challenging text. Thanks!

Hank Aaron traveled eleven miles further on the base paths than the next guy on the list (Albert Pujols).

What’s the craziest sports stat you know ?

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Got it.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach I get that thought, but on the other hand, does it matter what their discipline/gl? Would you have said something like, “there are teachers on here who have a lot to say about hockey and baseball cards and yet I don’t know what subject/grade they teach?”

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@DRock_40 That’s the right idea… that’s because Dave can’t blow a save, leave a rag arm in too long, or throw a costly interception on 3rd and 5 in the red zone. Stick with Dave - better for your heart.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Got it...but what if, say, my classroom library copy of Sherman Alexie's "Absolutely True Diary...." gets water logged in a run-of-the-mill Nalgene accident and I never bother to replace it. No ban, yes?

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Ok! I’m in! Then back to being relieved that curricular decisions don’t equal “bans”.

[Mike Spillman @MikeSpilly]

@MatRyanELATeach Man oh man, then guilty as charged. I supposed I’ve diminished access to 10,000 titles my colleagues and I elected not to read with students over the years. Yeesh.
