In 2012, the U.S. government banned incandescent light bulbs. The reason given: energy efficiency. The real reason is in a document that was never meant to be public.

In 2007 — five years before the ban — the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory completed a 14-month neurological study on LED flicker. Reference: PNNL-SA-2007-4419. Classified: "Limited Distribution — Not for Public Release."

What they found:

LED bulbs at 120Hz produce flicker invisible to conscious perception but fully registered by the thalamus. Continuous exposure over 6+ hours per day: measurable melatonin suppression, circadian disruption, and a 23% reduction in deep-sleep duration within 90 days.

A former lighting engineer — 9 years at one of three companies manufacturing 87% of LED bulbs in North America:

"We were told the flicker had to remain at 120Hz. Not because of cost. Not because of engineering limitations. Because the specification came from outside the company. It was a compliance requirement attached to the federal energy rebate program. If you wanted the subsidy, you built to their spec. Nobody asked why the spec existed. We just built to it."

The spec came from the DOE. The DOE study proving neurological harm was completed 5 years before the ban. They knew. They mandated it anyway.

What 120Hz flicker does over years:

Melatonin suppression. Pineal calcification accelerates. Immune response weakens. Emotional regulation deteriorates. Attention span shortens. You become easier to agitate. Easier to distract. Easier to control.

Incandescent bulbs: continuous current. No flicker. Smooth light identical to fire — what human biology evolved under for 300,000 years. They banned the one light your brain was designed for and replaced it with one that degrades you 120 times per second.

The fix: Replace LEDs in rooms where you spend 4+ hours — especially bedrooms — with incandescent bulbs. Still legal as "heat lamps" or "rough service" bulbs. They never disappeared. Just relabeled so you wouldn't look.

Your sleep problems are not stress. Your brain fog is not aging. Your irritability is not personality. It's 120 invisible pulses per second, every waking hour, in every room you enter.

Oregon just looked at California and said “hold my organic beer.”

They’ve got a new ballot measure called the PEACE Act. It sounds warm and fuzzy until you read what it actually does. The bill would effectively make it illegal to injure or kill animals “in any form and by any means.” That means hunting, fishing, farming, animal breeding, pest control, and even basic research get dragged into the criminal code.

You can’t plow a field without killing mice, snakes, and rabbits. You can’t bale hay without crushing small animals. You can’t deal with a family of raccoons in your attic or a hornet’s nest on your porch. Under this law, those normal acts of survival and property protection become legally dangerous. Meanwhile, Oregon still allows abortion at every single stage of pregnancy with zero gestational limits, no waiting periods, and shield laws to protect the whole thing.

They want to make killing a cockroach or a rat more legally fraught than ending a pregnancy at eight months. That’s not compassion. That’s moral inversion dressed up in humane language. They’re not protecting animals. They’re using animal rights as a battering ram against ordinary life ... food production, wildlife management, and the basic right to defend your own home.

This is what happens when people who’ve never hunted, never farmed, and never had to deal with real pests get to rewrite the rules for everyone else. They call it peace. It looks a lot more like declaring war on anyone who still lives in the real world.

In a stunning move against transparency, Gov. Bob Ferguson is directing state agencies to withhold key information from the public and media, according to public records requests. This aggressive clamping down of information adds to the disturbing pattern of far left leaders in our state working to keep the public in the dark.

In 2023, when Ferguson was Attorney General, he championed HB 1333 which would criminalize free speech and independent under the guise of "domestic violence." Fortunately, outrage from the public and Legislative Republicans defeated that horrible bill.

In 2025, Legislative Democrats voted to shut the public out of the budget process. The results of that budget included the largest tax increases in state history, $782 MILLION being cut out of Medicaid, and a spending spree (SB 5167).

In 2026, multiple journalists are being denied their press passes in our state capitol, while budget battles including the Income Tax are raging.

The public has the right to know how well their state government is performing. We need more transparency in government, not less.
