Russian occupiers shot and killed a 13-year-old boy who was trying to escape the war with his mother. He had to be buried twice.

This is the story of 13-year-old Yelisei Ryabokon from Brovary.

In the photo on the left is an ordinary schoolboy. On the right is the hat he was wearing, riddled with bullets and shrapnel, along with his white soccer jersey, which he wore over his jacket to show that he was a civilian.

On March 11, 2022, Yelisei’s family tried to escape from the village of Peremoha, already occupied by russian forces.

As they were driving, russian soldiers initially waved to them, as if wishing them a safe journey.

Then they opened fire on the cars carrying civilians.

Yelisei’s mother and younger brother were in one car, while Yelisei was traveling in another.

The first vehicle exploded after being struck by a shell. People scrambled out of the cars and tried to hide.

“I was pulling the little one by his hood,” his mother, Inna, recalled.

She hoped her older son was still alive. When she was finally allowed to return to him, she realized he had died instantly.

He was lying on the back seat, curled into a small ball. His mother barely survived and managed to pull her younger son out of the gunfire.

At first, Yelisei was buried in a vegetable garden in the village.

Only later was his family able to bring his body home to Brovary and bury him properly.

They never opened the coffin.

His father, Yevhen, who serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, never had the chance to see his son one last time.

His mother wants the world to know what russia has done in Ukraine and to remember every murdered child.

Those who knew Yelisei remember a calm, polite boy who was always smiling.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, just after midnight, we pulled over a rideshare driver with a passenger travelling 101 km/h in an 80 km/h construction zone on northbound Deerfoot Trail near 32 Ave. N.E. Rather than pulling over on the shoulder, the driver stopped in the middle of the lane putting all other drivers on the road at risk.

🔴 Eventually, the driver moved off the road and was given three tickets. 1 for speeding, 1 for careless driving & 1 for not pulling over for an emergency vehicle. The fines totalled $1,572.

⚠️ Stopping in the middle of a roadway creates a hazard for other drivers, blocks traffic & puts everyone, including officers, at greater risk.

We are investigating a single-vehicle collision that occurred earlier this month & are asking the public for help determining the vehicle’s movements before the collision.

📍 At approx. 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, a blue Subaru WRX was travelling north on Deerfoot Trail, approaching an unrelated collision scene that had temporarily closed the road. The driver attempted to exit onto 17 Avenue S to avoid the closure, lost control & rolled several times. The vehicle narrowly missed first responders & road crews at the scene who were responding to the earlier collision. 2 passengers were ejected.

2 passengers, a 14-year-old girl & a 19-year-old woman, were transported to hospital with serious, life-altering injuries. A third passenger, a 23-year-old man, was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 21-year-old man, was taken into custody and transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The 2 men and the 14-year-old girl have since been released from hospital. The 19-year-old woman remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

Speed & alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision.

🔎 After speaking with witnesses, investigators believe several vehicles may have been racing before the collision. Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage from northbound Deerfoot Trail in the moments leading up to the collision to come forward.

The investigation is ongoing & charges are pending.

We are asking the public for help identifying a man suspected of at least 2 sexual assaults in Calgary, where customers were groped while shopping.

📍 The first incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 725-500 Country Hills Blvd. N.E.

The second happened on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026 at the Walmart located at 7979 11 Street S.E.

🔍 The suspect is a male, with a medium build, likely between 25 & 40 years old.

He has short, dark hair with a receding hairline & a short, dark beard & moustache.

Ukraine launched successful drone and flamingo missile attacks against Russian chemical plants in Samara and Volgograd. Ukraine also struck Russian refineries in Saratov, Krasnodar, and Tatarstan. Global prices for diesel have hit an all time high because of Trump's war against Iran and Trump is desperately trying to blame Ukraine for his failings ahead of the November elections.
