Louisiana just passed a law requiring restaurants to tell customers when their food is cooked in seed oils.

Senate Bill 14 covers canola, corn, soybean, and sunflower oil, with the disclosure taking effect in 2028.

Kitchens using butter or tallow do not have to say a word.

The science on seed oils is still contested, but the case for telling customers what is actually in their food is not.

Ask yourself when did this 'tradition' start?

The phrase “trick or treat” first appeared in Canadian newspapers around 1927 and in a U.S. paper (Michigan) in 1928. In the 1920s and 1930s.

The modern American tradition of children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door saying “trick or treat” for candy is relatively recent. It did not exist in its current form for most of U.S. history.
