Honest opinions:

Incredible to get to a WC semi, and SO close to a WC Final. And I don’t want to bash anyone or be totally negative…..

But:

Dogshit against Ghana
Dogshit against Panama
Dogshit against Dr. Congo

Held on for dear life against Mexico
Held on for dear life against Norway
Held on for dear life against Argentina, then found out none of the other teams had Lionel Messi.

Completely folded after scoring and asked for it. Made the most defensive subs we possibly could (like Mexico and Norway) and tried to hold on for 40mins against a team that would eat your nan and has the best player to ever touch a football in human history, and still holds a grudge against us……

Same old, same old unfortunately. Not good enough, living on Harry and Jude’s heroics but when they don’t have the magic, there is always one man that will, and he’s a small magician that his team will die for just to be near enough to him to smell his farts. Reality checks required. Thank you for the journey and giving us hope, but in the end, same old England…..

I now see my son’s tears as my Dad saw mine, but there is nothing worse and also nothing better than loving World Cups, and loving England……
