I have a ton of family & friends in Massachusetts so this is mostly anecdotal so grain of salt, etc.

But my general sense of this race is that most progressive voters like Markey but think he is too old, and would’ve been open to a younger progressive (e.g. Ayanna Presley) challenging Markey — or ideally Markey would have passed the torch. And all the young progressive potential candidates all deferred to Markey when he decided to run again.

But Moulton is too moderate/opportunistic for most of them, so they’re sticking with Markey.

And he should win renomination fairly comfortably.
