Meet Thaddeus Daniel Pierce.
“World’s Oldest Baby”
Baby Thaddeus was conceived via IVF in 1994 along with three siblings. His biological parents implanted his sister and froze the rest of their children.
After divorcing, Thaddeus’ biological mother gained custody of the remaining embryos. She intended to implant them, but menopause led her to choose embryo adoption.
In 2024, Lindsey and Tim Pierce adopted Thaddeus and his two remaining siblings after 7 years of infertility. One embryo died after being defrosted, and two were implanted in Lindsey’s uterus.
Only Thaddeus survived.
Thaddeus was born on July 26th, 2025. But he’s biologically 31 years old.
Media outlets are confused: They say Thaddeus was created or born “from an embryo that was frozen.” But Thaddeus’ life didn’t begin in 2024 or 2025. He was alive in 1994 and was alive during the 30 years being frozen.
Thaddeus was the embryo. He’s the same human being, just older now.
Thaddeus is a miracle. But also a victim of an unethical practice.
No child should be subjected to IVF, as it puts children at serious risk.
➡️ 40% increased risk of birth defects
➡️ Double the chance of stillbirth
➡️ Higher risk of childhood leukemia
➡️ Low birth weight
➡️ Higher blood pressure
➡️ Hormonal imbalances
➡️ Advanced bone age
➡️ Cardiovascular issues
➡️ Cerebral palsy
➡️ Autism spectrum disorder
➡️ Infertility
More lives are lost during IVF than born alive.
Only 7% of human embryos created via IVF result in a live birth.
93% of these lives are frozen, miscarried, or aborted.
Over 1 million embryos are currently frozen in the U.S.
Thaddeus was treated as an “extra” baby, frozen for 30 years, and two of his siblings were killed.
Children deserve better.
Ban IVF now.

@FMannerheim Bibeln! Men då får du ett helt bibliotek, förstås… olika stilar, genrer, texttyper o.s.v… Ett tips är i så fall att följa en läsplan, t.ex. The great adventure Bible timeline, och kanske också få texten förklarad, t.ex. via podden Bible in a year podcast. Krya på dig! ❤️🩹
“If Jesus was God, why did He cry?”
When I was Muslim, I used to smirk at the shortest verse in the Bible. A crying God? Weak.
“Jesus wept.” John 11:35. Two words. It should bring you to your knees.
Then I actually read WHERE He’s standing.
At the tomb of His friend Lazarus. And here’s the part that undoes me: He’s about to raise him. In sixty seconds He’ll shout that dead man back to life. The victory is already loaded.
And He weeps ANYWAY.
He didn’t have to. The happy ending was already in His hand.
But He looked at the grief around Him — the sisters, the mourners, the sheer wreckage that death makes of everything — and He entered it. He let it hit Him. God, with tears running down His face, at the graveside of someone He loved.
The God of Islam was too majestic to weep. I was proud of that. Until I met a God who was strong enough to.
“We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses.” Hebrews 4:15.
Whatever you’re burying right now — He’s not watching from a safe distance.
He’s the God who weeps at gravesides.
And then empties them.
Now you and me get to rejoice forever with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Why is it that so many teacher trainers are not familiar with the science of learning? Or even actively oppose it?
I think the case of differentiated instruction is useful. The *best* case that can be made for differentiated instruction is that the evidence is inconclusive. It is also hugely time-consuming for teachers to enact.
Yet it is enthusiastically endorsed everywhere from teaching standards to there being entire units on it at training colleges. If this is not a response to evidence, what is it?
It is a response to ideology. This ideology maintains that everyone is different and special—which is a pleasant idea—and so they need their own unique mix of teaching methods—which is probably untrue. Nobody ever explains what evidence a teacher would use to decide this mix. They just need to *know their students*.
And, of course, teacher trainers do not have to suffer the consequences of this approach. It is for others to do the suffering.
The " I don't know prayer"
Did you know there's a prayer called the "I DON'T KNOW" PRAYER?
You just go somewhere quiet(before the Blessed Sacrament for me),
and you sit at the feet of God and say;
" I don't know".
I don't know where to go from here.
I don't know what's happening. I don't know how to process this. I don't know what to do with the emotions . I don't know how to handle the situations.
And then with whatever little grain of faith you have, you say,
"But You know ,"
Sit in silence for a while ,
Say Amen ,and you leave !!
“Pleasure is sweet, but God is sweeter. Temporal pain is bad, but much worse is eternal fire. You have something to love instead of the world’s loves, or rather of worthless loves; you have something to fear, in place of the world’s terrors.”
St. Augustine, Sermon 283: On the Birthday of the Martyrs of Marseilles (§1) (414)
I asked Doug Lemov why he calls Teach Like a Champion a book about social justice. His answer might surprise you. High expectations lead to more equitable outcomes.

1/2 🎯“We’re not an evidence-based profession traditionally, we’re more of an ideology-based, philosophy-based profession & that works to some degree, but it’s not working for most of our kids” Gaffney said. So we need to move away from that towards the evidence”

After students know their math facts, what next?
In this clip, Jon Regino and I explain why fractions are one of the most important predictors of later success in algebra—and why they're worth prioritizing.

Hemskheter, i sådana fall!
