The Office joined (GCIS) in the Nelson Mandela Bay Region for a SADC Dialogue Programme engaging TVET college students on regional integration, youth participation and opportunities within SADC, to raise awareness of the Office existence and its mandate.

Any complaint who, on reasonable grounds fears or suspects that he/she may be victimised after lodging a complaint must inform the Military Ombud accordingly so that a specific recommendation may be made to the Minister with regard to his/her protection.
The Military Ombud Outreach Team today visited Area Military Health Gauteng, where they explained the process of lodging a complaint with the Office, including the applicable timeframes and limitations as outlined in the Military Ombud Act.

Any person aggrieved by the decision of the Ombud may apply to the High Court for review of that decision within a period of 180 days of the decision of the Military Ombud.

The Military Ombud conducted a public activation in Cullinan, Pretoria East, to raise awareness of its mandate and educate community members on the processes for lodging complaints in relation to the conduct of the uniformed members of South African National Defence Force.
The Office conducted an outreach at the Military Health Training Formation to raise awareness about its mandate, functions, and complaint-handling processes. The engagement brought together members from various units, including the Nursing College, SMHT, J PTSR Training Centre.
Community engagement in action. The Military Ombud was in Carletonville engaging with the community in an effort to create awareness about our mandate and the services they offer. Every conversation brings us closer to ensuring that the public is well informed and empowered.
Military Ombud Lt Gen (Ret) Vusumuzi Masondo, together with Public Protector SA Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Masondo said the MoU is intended to strengthen the relationship & cooperation between the Military Ombud and the Public Protector SA.
The Office visited Benoni in East Rand to share information about its mandate. This was aimed at educating the public on how they could lodge a complaint regarding the official conduct of soldiers. Benoni is one of the areas with deployed soldiers through Operation Prosper.
The Office has commenced its Outreach Programme in Gauteng. This programme will see Office personnel visiting all military bases to inform uniformed members of the SANDF about the mandate and services of the Office.
The Office of the Military Ombud engaged with more than 500 mission-ready members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) at 121 Infantry Battalion in Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal.
The Office delivered a presentation to SANDF members during the Induction Programme held at Macadamia Military Base in Mpumalanga Province. The presentation aimed to educate and prepare members ahead of their deployment along the country's borders.
