The fact that we focus on "obesity" as an epidemic over malnutrition, poverty, food deserts, and a general lack of access to affordable healthcare for both kids and adults tells you everything you need to know about fatphobia, classism, and capitalism tbh.

@KhadijaJones1 @GlobalHofstra As the elderly population continues to grow rapidly the shortage of healthcare workers will become more eminent. Investing, training and educating women and young people will be a positive move in the right direction.
@ArpitaHaz@GlobalHofstra Investment in community health workers is essential to achieve better health outcomes, especially for countries in Sub saharan Africa where rural areas have high shortages.
@Andrew65469561@GlobalHofstra Even though NCD’s are a top priority they don’t receive the required funding. There is definitely a need for strategic response as incidence of NCDs continue to rise globally, I think the four mentioned are innovative and could be quite effective.
@drbrandonalba@GlobalHofstra@TelegraphNews As pandemics are unpredictable there is a need to strengthen national health systems globally. As most countries are unable to handle these emergencies on their own, investments are vital and will be cost effective over time.
@amjdaniel01@GlobalHofstra Sound financing will be essential to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030, with The WHO’s estimates. Reaching these goal will require a multi-systems approach with efficiency improving measures to reduce rate of preventable deaths.
@utsavi_kapadia@GlobalHofstra Universal Health Coverage will be a positive step towards reducing health disparities for low income individuals. @d00alana@GlobalHofstra China has been known to have major issues with air pollution so it is amazing to see these improvements in just four years. Also with the improvements in life expectancy I think this should inspire other countries to use some of these methods as well.
@mphbear@GlobalHofstra I think this is a great solution to improving micronutrient deficiencies while helping the environment. However, as mentioned getting people and farmers to make that change will be a challenge.
