This is such an uninformed take. She is not *personally* donating money—she is applauding the thousands that helped raise that money. Donors expect transparency from a fundraiser. This is standard. Second, amplifying the fundraiser’s success isn’t for announcing good deeds. It’s to bring more awareness to the cause it supports and to inspire others to help. You’re forgetting the other women sitting on that press table and the new followers, donors, and supporters they stand to gain from all this.
i dont think theres nothing lamer than calling a press conference to announce you're making a donation in which the money aint coming from your pockets. but thats just me idk
The mic is ON. The backtrack is OFF. The body is TEA. And dancing like rent is DUE.
She really said: remember when pop stars were actually pop stars? 😭
1. Sounds like doesn’t always mean copied. Otherwise many artists should credit other artists for many other songs too.
2. If I were Taylor (who I love) even if I didn’t sue, I would have refused the credit. Accepting it set a dangerous precedent for music publishing…
If you don’t hear the similarities despite the melody, the flow and the song key being literally the same then check your ears but I’m tired of people pretending there was not enough reason for those credits (specially when Taylor has credited people for MUCH less)
@velxsco__ She isn’t doing nothing. I admire her business savvy and for paving the way for smaller artists in terms of publishing. But as a billionaire and someone who toots girlhood and empowerment, yes, she could be doing more—as proven by these other young female artists.
@muster10ubj@venusopalite13 I love how you just assumed I don’t like Taylor by simply having a negative opinion about her. Tell that to all the concert tickets, vinyls, merch and streams I’ve spent on her over the years. You know it’s actually possible to carry differing perspectives.
@muster10ubj@venusopalite13 Watch a pro-Olivia video and look at things from that lens. Then maybe form an opinion. You can’t? Resorting to calling other people with different views a weirdo? You’re just a bandwagoner with no real perspective.
@elliemunster@venusopalite13 Still a fan of her music. Flew thousands of miles to watch her concert. Have several of her vinyls. Top artist on Spotify. But who she is as a person? A business woman behind closed doors? Who knows? You could be a fan of someone and still look at both sides of a conflict.
@venusopalite13 He’s right, we don’t know what happened behind closed doors. There is still a very real possibility that while Taylor “publicly supports” girls, she could be privately undermining them. And I am a fan of Taylor.
