I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Jesse Fitzgerald from Niskayuna Schools as he provided awesome and helpful feedback about my teacher website!! This feedback will help me make adjustments and improve my teacher site!
At Clarkson University, I am taking a course called Modern Teacher in their MAT program. It has been a very eye opening course and has given me a better awareness as a teacher and person. I have been building throughout the semester my teacher website and here is a link:
Integrating technology can be a cool but nerve racking experience if you are not comfortable with the tech or don't integrate it correct. Having a workflow for your class can help organize the tech components with your class work. Check out my workflow:
After reading "Teens Who Hurt" chapters 6-11, I have come away with an awareness with adolescents that I never had before. If you use brute strength to respond to an adolescent, either as an educator or parent, it probably won't go well.
Learning management systems have greatly changed from when I was first introduced to them when I was younger. Google Classroom is a great tool to use as a teacher! However, there are always improvements that can be made to help further enhance new student learning!
Often in society, we continuously blame the students for failures of academics. However, how many times have you heard someone say that maybe the system should be blamed? "Cultivating Genius" opened my eyes to what we really should be focusing on and the necessary changes.
Have you ever heard of Form Mule? I hadn't until this latest integration challenge and it is a game changer!! Allows you to merge data from a google form to google sheets and is a great way to check in with your students! Check out my form here: https://t.co/4snm6CvHZK
Creating a safe place where all students feel important, respected, and understood is a goal I strive for in my future class. After reading Cultivating Genius, it is important to promote discussion in the classroom when it comes to social issues, past and current.
Got to experience my very first twitter chat and what a great experience! I will definitely be joining more in the future as it was a great connecting experience! Thank you #tlap
A3: The boundaries I set for myself is to try to not burn too much of the candle and if I notice I am burning myself out, to then take a step back and regroup. #tlap
A1: The thing I am always grateful for is that I am alive and breathing! The one thing I am most grateful for is my friends, family, and all the people in my life! Looking forward to meeting new people tonight! #tlap
