He climbed onto a speeding SUV and held on for nearly 40 km as three men tried to escape.

Head Constable M Velmurugan of Kovilpalayam police station, Coimbatore, was checking a suspected gutkha consignment when the SUV suddenly sped away.

He climbed onto the roof, grabbed the rails and held on as the SUV reached the speed of over 100 kmph.

Police teams chased behind, while an NHAI ambulance was sent to help keep him safe.

The chase ended in Tiruppur district, where the SUV was intercepted, and three men from Rajasthan were arrested.

Police seized a large consignment of gutkha and other banned tobacco products.

Nearly 40 km. One speeding SUV. And one officer who refused to let them get away.

Once, Kishore Kumar ji asked Lata ji, "Didi, among the songs I’ve sung, which one is your favorite?"
Lata ji replied, "Dada, should I tell you or sing it for you?"
Kishore Kumar ji immediately said, "Didi, please sing it!"
Lata ji laughed and said, "Not now… maybe some other time."

On his next birthday, Lataji sent him a gift - a Kishore Kumar song she specially recorded in HMV studio and sang for him.

It was a rare and touching gesture — a beautiful tribute

Remembering Lataji
Please listen to the song!

Beautiful bonding of a mother elephant and her calf 🤩

> Elephant mothers carry their babies for 22 months, the longest pregnancy of any land animal 🤱

> Newborn calves weigh around 100 kilograms (220 pounds) yet are completely helpless at birth

> Other female herd members act as "allomothers" or babysitters to guard and care for the calf 🐘

> The deep empathy and love shared between them proves elephants possess complex emotional inner lives 🩶🩷
