Since @jccfergie decided to post our private exchange (including our private paypal account which is now under a spam attack), here is the full story.

Last year, a mutual acquaintance of ours suggested I outreach to him to see if he would fund FPTV. I did, and he invited me to visit him in Ireland last minute while I was filming in Greece.

I travelled to Dublin on a last minute flight, with last minute hotel bookings. I came with the intention of pitching a small expansion of FPTV, which at the time employed tens of youth in Palestine, Syria & Lebanon producing hundreds of hours of content; with a humble annual budget of $150 k. I did not want to speak about anything bigger, knowing how most peoples brains can't handle too much at once.

At the end of the pitch at his home while his wife was there, the two decided to ask about my history in media, and I obliged. I spoke of the first ever live mobile broadcast in the history of the world in 2012, during the "Maple Spring" of Quebec, that I designed and produced. It was watch by 2.5 million people a day, with 250k simultaneous viewers, 8hrs a day for 7 months, led to the longest strike in the history of Canada, and the collapse of the Quebec government. I explained how that all cost a measly 250k, and nobody has repeated that experiment in the west since.

I also spoke of my work as a Broadcasting Law Consultant, and our various attempts to license a television station in Canada. The battles to liberate Community Television from corporate hold (went to supreme court of Canada and is still in courts 13 years in). And our failed attempt to liberate the only national "ethnic" television station in Canada, and to license our own.

At the end of our conversation, when I said I will send my proposal for FPTV's funding, the couple asked me to also send the funding structures for a live broadcasting unite, and a broadcasting 24hr station with all the bells and whistles. I told them that our relationship, and the projects they would want to collaborate on, should grow slowly, they insisted that I send it all. So I forwarded the proposal for FPTV's expansion, the standard budget of the live broadcasting unite I have shared before, and the budget of the national tv station we almost had licensed in Canada.

I went back home, and waited for a reply. A month later, Fergie disagreed with my posts about the complicity of Jews in the Genocides committed in their name, and that was the end of the funding possibilities, ie he didn't agree with our editorial position, done.

It took a while to get refunded for the last minute costly trip to Ireland, but I thought maybe with more repression happening in the West the guy may put his disagreement with us aside, and fund innovative work. In reality, what happened is the Fergie got obsessed, and couldn't stop thinking of our continued work without his funding, and our continued success.

All the guy needed to do is forget about us, and move on, but as a control freak from a privileged background, he couldn't handle the fact all the combined shitty media projects he funds have less influence on the "radical" circles than our viewer funded project.
