Having just emerged from a bloody civil war 27 years ago, Rwanda has been able to put their country on course to achieve development. They now have a gold refinery with the capacity to process gold from around the whole of the African continent.

In 2019, Rwanda built a gold refinery to process gold from across Africa and halt raw minerals from leaving Africa at a cost of just $5 million.

It has the capacity to refine 6 tonnes of gold a month. They aim to have earned a total of $15 billion from mineral exports by 2024.
