I went to a friend's house and decided to stroll to the junction. Since that was a major road path, students from secondary schools filled the road because it was closing hours. I took a stroll for more than 30mins, and in all that time, not one person said "Good afternoon sir/uncle". In fact, I was the one shifting for them to pass on the road because they were just walking αnyhow. Back in the day, greetings were so mandatory, we even greeted strangers no matter how many we came across.

It's really sad, many children nowadays are not being raised right, showing no respect whatsoever for seniors.

We have to do better as a people.
