Lappartient, continued: "...You can take the riders from the 1st and 2nd level, that means 1,000 riders and that could be nice.
In the Board you can have riders directly elected by the riders, and maybe 50% elected directly by the union so you have good representation..."

Farrand: Do you think all the riders in the world should be able to vote for the President of the CPA?
Lappartient: I think so. I think so. This is also what I said to Gianni. I think so. And now with new technologies it is very easy, simple to have this...

In all sincerity, respect to Gianni Bugno and I wish him every success in leading @cpacycling - I hope this past month accelerates a much needed change in how the riders and the union work together.
I’ve got a car if any professional cyclist’s in Innsbruck want picking up and brought up to Mutters to vote? Could take me a few runs to tally up a good count, but hey ho, worth a go!
*Note to self - rent bus next time.
@millarforcpa
@millarforcpa@cpacycling A lot of riders are angry by the way this election has been managed and how CPA is hiding itself behind bylaws instead to listen to the voice of the riders. Si that’s why we collected the votes of the Belgian riders and here is the outcome.
Personalities aside; politics and process aside; the peloton deserves better. My generation would have been greatly served by a unified and representative riders association. I hope today’s riders step up and take ownership.
@lancearmstrong When I came back from my ban I motivated myself to effect change to look after the younger versions of us and make sure they didn’t have to make the wrong decisions we made. So yes, I agree with you, it’s about today’s peloton and their successors and we have to look after them.
This isn't about Gianni Bugno or David Millar. Its about the current peloton and their successors. Simply put - they deserve better and must demand better. They are the stars of the show and must have input and influence. In fact, I’d argue more than any other stake holder.
@khtcycling @millarmind@cpacycling Yes, and nobody has truly understood. I'm running because I realised it would not change without an outside challenge.
To clarify I am pro @millarforcpa because I am pro change. I do believe David can do a good job and more closely understands the sentiments in today’s peloton but at this point the desire for change is so strong @KrustytheClown would win a fair election.
Nice to see Riders speaking up, especially those who aren’t even officially represented within the union that they themselves fund! I call BS on the reasons for not postponing this vote @cpacycling
