PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE PUBLIC DEBT CASE RULING
Fellow Kenyans,
Today, the High Court delivered an important ruling in our public debt case.
The Court upheld the @IMFNews claim of diplomatic immunity and struck it out of this petition. While we respect the Court’s decision, accountability for Kenya’s debt burden cannot end there.
We are preparing a separate legal challenge to the Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1963, against the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to ensure all actors involved in Kenya’s debt processes are subjected to proper scrutiny.
Most importantly, the Court rejected attempts by the Attorney General and other respondents to have this case dismissed. The judges ruled that our petition will proceed to a full hearing on its merits.
The Court also dismissed applications by the former Auditor General, former Controller of Budget, the current Auditor General, and the current Controller of Budget seeking to shield themselves from these proceedings.
This is a significant victory for transparency, accountability, and the Kenyan people.
We will amend our petition as directed by the Court and return on 22nd July 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to establish how Kenya accumulated trillions in public debt, how the funds were utilized , whether the public benefited and whether the law was followed at every stage.
This case is about protecting the future of our nation and the interests of every Kenyan taxpayer.
We remain focused, determined, and committed to seeing it through.
God Bless Kenya.

Last evening, Kenyans listened to a press briefing by Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen, the CS in charge of a critical docket in the Republic of Kenya.
I am vindicated.
Kenyans are more convinced than ever before that my position has all along been true and factual; we have the most clueless Minister in charge of security since independence.
The man is lost in ideas, arguments and conclusions.
The first and most important duty of the police is deterrence of crime. Mr Murkomen argues that he has intelligence reports that goons were being organized to commit crimes today.
Interesting!
What has he done about it? If he is aware of their plans why can’t he stop them? Is he unwilling to stop them or he lacks capacity or what does he want ordinary Kenyans to do if he is crying as the CS for Interior?
Since he is aware that goons will be destroying property, will he allow it to happen then arrest people later or hold another presser and report them to Kenyans?
Why is he unwilling to give a categorical answer that police will protect property and the state-sponsored millitia that him and his colleagues have organized and will not be allowed to cause violence?
He carelessly says that politicians from the opposition are organizing goons; Why can’t he arrest these goons?
He further asserts with authority that leaders allied to Government will be attacked; I trust he has made arrangements to protect them and their properties though they already have Government armed security.
As if that isn't unintelligent enough, he adds that some Bussinessmen will be attacked for refusing to finance politicians. Since he knows them, then he must make arrangements to protect them.
It is my take that since the Government knows goons will attack citizens and Bussiness, then it should not happen since the Government has sufficient capacity to stop it and arrest the goons while in action.
Unfortunately and sadly so, the real goons will not be arrested because they are organized by Government.
The Police have clear instructions to allow goons wreck havoc and only intervene later by arresting innocent people. Leaders in the opposition will be arrested later for allegedly financing the attacks.
There will be stage-managed attacks on leaders allied to Government and accuse opposition leaders of inciting people against them. The script is so clear. Blame the opposition and get the affected leaders some sympathy.
Let Mr. Murkomen stop the goons since he has confirmed there will be goons attacking people.
It is his work.
What does he want ordinary Kenyans to do? It will not happen. The whole thing is his plan.
He has recruited, financed and deployed the goons to cause mayhem and later blame the opposition. If he hasn’t, they there will be no goons and there will be no violence.
It is common knowledge among Kenyans, because they are intelligent, that if goons were organised by the opposition, they would not be let to get anywhere near citizens' property. They would be shot on sight and others arrested. Goons terrorize Kenyans with impunity and never arrested because they are state goons.
That is why they move in police vehicles and walk with the police. No wonder Mr. Murkomen is so kind to them that he calls them watchmen!
And in any case, the National police service is supposed to be independent. The Minister should comment on policy. IG is in charge of operations.
Why is Mr. Murkomen discussing police operations?
He has taken over the National police service and created parallel command. He has introduced goonism in the police service. He has forced police commanders to work with goons!
Mr. Murkomen, do your work. Do not forget that ICC is beckoning you and your masters.
Today in the @Senate_KE, I will substantiate how public money is being hidden and stolen in plain sight through budget lines labelled “Other Operating Expenses.” OVER 90 BILLION!
If salaries, utilities, travel, maintenance, fuel, training, procurable items, and other expenditures already have specific vote heads, what exactly is hidden under this vague and ever-expanding category?
Even more troubling, the Constitution requires parliamentary approval for all public borrowing. Yet billions are spent under opaque budget lines that escape meaningful scrutiny.
Kenyans deserve transparency, not blank cheques for wastage, mismanagement, and theft. Every shilling collected from taxpayers must be traceable, justified, and accounted for.
The era of hiding public funds behind vague budget descriptions must come to an end. STAY TUNED
Wazalendo wenzangu.
At this very moment, I am attending the Court of Appeal proceedings as lead counsel in Court of Appeal Civil Application No. E261 of 2026 - the matter concerning the proposed disposition of Safaricom PLC sharest, but my eyes are equally fixed on what is unfolding at the August House.
The Finance Bill 2026/2027 is before Parliament. The people of Kenya are watching and their verdict is already known. This Bill must not pass in its current form.
I call on every Member of Parliament today: let justice prevail. Let decency prevail. Vote your conscience. Vote for the mwananchi.
Trump’s press conference was INSANE:
He confirmed that:
• Iran gets $300B + $100B unfrozen
• Iran has the RIGHT to ballistic missiles
• The U.S. was running out of oil
• A worldwide depression was coming
I was predicting all of this from the first week including that REPARATIONS were coming and got a lot of hate for it.
The sellout MAGA frauds are now going to change their entire life-philosophy and deeply held “principles” over night.
Trump is on his knees. This was ALWASY the ONLY way it was going to end. Even if he thinks he can start the war again. Iran will always win.
It’s check mate. Always has been.
" Suffering ,suffering ,suffering ,

The Executive under William Ruto spent KSh 703 MILLION on hospitality in just 9 months.
Parliament spent another KSh 283 MILLION.
That's KSh 986 MILLION.
Almost KSh 1 BILLION.
Meanwhile, the same government allocates just KSh 95 per learner per term.
Think about what that means.
They take more taxes from Kenyans every year.
They tell us there is no money.
No money for schools.
No money for services.
No money to ease the burden on struggling families.
Yet there is nearly KSh 1 BILLION for their own hospitality.
We are being robbed.
The taxpayer works.
The taxpayer pays.
The political class eats.
KSh 95 for a child.
KSh 986 million for politicians.
That tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.

Mr. President, you’re in manifest violation of this Article, of the Court Orders, of the Right to Life and of Peaceful Demonstrations.

Kalonzo Musyoka’s record in public service stands out for something rare in Kenyan politics: consistency without noise.
As Vice President under Mwai Kibaki from 2008 to 2013, he served during a period many Kenyans remember for major structural shifts expanded infrastructure development, the rollout of free primary education, and the early implementation of long-term planning frameworks like Vision 2030.
His approach was not one of spectacle, but of institutional support and diplomatic balancing at a time the country needed stability more than drama.
Kalonzo’s political style has always been understated.
He rarely turns governance into a stage show, yet he has remained present in nearly every critical national dialogue over the last two decades coalition building, peace mediation, constitutional transition, and national unity efforts.
That kind of longevity in leadership is not accidental; it reflects discipline, political endurance, and a reputation that can survive changing regimes.
What sets him apart is not loud self-promotion, but consistency.
In a political environment where many figures are defined by shifting positions and short-term alliances, Kalonzo has maintained a steady public image: calm, calculated, and institutional rather than impulsive.
Kenya’s politics often rewards volume over substance.
@skmusyoka career reflects the opposite quiet participation in high-level governance and long-term statecraft rather than constant public theatrics.
