MFD Fire Chief Stephen Moen has announced his retirement, effective June 1st.
We are a stronger fire family thanks to Steve’s leadership; his contributions to MFD and the greater Millet community are truly immeasurable.

MFD is on scene of a serious MVC on Hwy 2A near TWN 474 (south of Millet). Traffic is being detoured at Hwy 616 (TWN 475) and TWN 472. Avoid the area. Expect major delays.
We are aware of a controlled burn taking place today at Hillside Community Hall, in the area of TWN 472 and RR252.
This fire may produce smoke and flames that will be visible from QEII Hwy, which is just west of the fire location. @511Alberta
Please be patient as you pass through our beautiful little town! With only 2-lane roads into and out of Millet, traffic congestion from QEII closure leads to frustrated motorists who all-too-often make driving decisions fuelled by frustration & anger. #travelsafely#detour
#AlbertaRCMP in #Wetaskiwin are on scene of a motor vehicle collision on Hwy 2 at Hwy 616. Northbound lanes are closed. A detour has been set on Hwy 2A.
For up to date information, consult Alberta 511.
Expect major delays while this rollover is cleared; if you’re travelling east through Millet on Hwy 616 as part of the detour, please travel slowly as 616 has partially snow covered and icy sections.
Millet Fire Dept is aware of a controlled burn of an old building, occurring at 252047 HWY 616. This is in very close proximity to HWY 616 and also will be visible from QEII Hwy. @511Alberta
It’s that time again, where MFD puts together candy bags and hands them out to trick or treaters! With a Friday night Halloween this year, we think it could be our busiest year ever!
If you or your business would like to donate, we’ll gladly accept under these conditions:
🧵1/
Can’t make the drop-off? We will also accept monetary donations until October 15th (e-transfer ONLY to [email protected]). We’ll use accumulated funds to shop for goodies on your behalf. Put “Halloween” in the comment so we know to allocate the funds!

ALL northbound traffic arriving at TWN 484 will be redirected EAST without exception.
Traffic is advised to travel east of Millet on Hwy 616 and north on Hwy 814 to avoid being forced onto gravel roads.
Hey 2A remains closed to all traffic between TWN 484 and TWN 482 as a result of this collision. Local detours in place but best to use QEII Hwy for all travel through this area. @511Alberta
Attention all travellers.
Hey 2A is closed to northbound traffic at TWN 484 and closed to southbound traffic at Glen Park Road (TWN 490). Expected closure is 4-6 hours.
