@Street__lawyer Must’nt forget all the stories of people in hospitals begging for the covid 19 vaccine but it was to late as they lay dying. No anti vaxers as they are dying.
@k_mahlburg ‘This payment is in recognition of the stillbirth and provides some financial assistance to the grieving parents. ‘(From government website )
This is a payment for bereavement.
Imagine the grief these people go through 😟
@esilacSynohtnA I support immigrants and my parents immigrated here from England in the 60’s. My husband also was not born here. Why should we not share our good fortune with others.
Their vote for the former president gave a personal stamp of approval to overturning elections, criminalizing women’s healthcare, whitewashing slavery, book bans, deprivation of voter rights, villainizing law enforcement, denying the existence of systemic inequities, and the dehumanization of fellow human being, to name a few.
Secondly, individuals/groups with a documented history of Hate, misogyny, affiliation with white nationalism and autocratic world leaders are now emboldened and support the former president, their allies including their objectives outlined in “Project 25”.
This quote about “indifference” resonated with me from Elie Wiesel (Sept. 30, 1928 - July 2, 2016), a Holocaust survivor, humanitarian, and Nobel Peace Prize winner.
“Action is the only remedy to indifference: the most insidious danger of all.”
👉🏽Mr. Wiesel's words remind us that silence is not an option, for it emboldens those who thrive on division, hate, and authoritarianism.
To those who speak out against fascism, hate and fight for equality: You are the true patriots, and you inspire us all.🇺🇸
The only positive I can hang on to is I live in Australia. If you’re a woman in the US, an undocumented migrant, gay, trans or one of the many so called enemies within, my heart goes out to you. And I weep for the people of Ukraine.
We will be told “ the voters never get it wrong “ and “we can work with any President”.
I beg to differ. Electing a President with Trump’s record is appalling, beyond belief and not in Australia’s national interests. We have sacrificed our independence to a dysfunctional nation!
@lesstenny Yes we all walked/rode bikes to school. Less cars on the road to be knocked over by though. Despite that I had a cousin (6) killed by being hit by a car by crossing the road in the 70’s. So no way would I have let my kids walk to school when the went in the 2000’s let alone now.
I’m really over people saying that there’s no difference between The LNP & Labor. Short memories. Often it’s because Labor haven’t done something they never promised to do anyway. Get back to me when Labor have had 9 years in government. #auspol
