Iāve had a White Lawyer before & just like any lawyer they must be seriously vetted. Then you have to factor in the racial politics of the state/county you are in. The second his ālawyerā allowed a jury of 0 Black Americans, Karmelo should have asked for different representation.
FRISCO: āThis was a legal lynchingā
āThis is a slaughterhouseā
Representative for Karmelo Anthony claims he got 35 years in prison for the murder of Austin Metcalf because he is black
Close supporters of the family from inside the court surrounded her in tears and agreed
Same state. Different justice.
2023: Alec Adamson (Prosper, TX) shoots & kills a Black student, leads police on car chase + foot pursuit.
Sentence: 4 years. Served: 2.
2025: Karmelo (Frisco, TX) gets jumped by white students, defends himself with a knife.
Sentence: 35 years.
Tell me this isnāt two-tiered justice.
They committed a modern day lynching of that boy! Karmelo Anthony didnāt deserve this. He was clearly defending himself. Iām so pissed at the entire trial. They rushed this whole thing to appease Austinās family when he was the known thug.
Let me be clear about what just happened in the Karmelo Anthony verdict. Because the celebration is traveling and the discrepancies aren't.
FACT: Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 35 years.
FACT: The jury deliberated for less than 3 hours.
FACT: There were zero Black jurors on this jury.
FACT: The prosecution used peremptory strikes to remove 100% of eligible Black jurors while keeping a white educator after claiming they didn't want educators on the jury.
FACT: Karmelo Anthony never stood up. The confrontation happened while he was seated. Austin Metcalf was standing over him.
FACT: The jury had the option to choose manslaughter. They chose murder.
FACT: The "sudden passion" defense which would have capped the sentence at 2 to 20 years was rejected.
FACT: Karmelo Anthony's mother was the only witness called during the punishment phase. She asked for mercy. The prosecutor responded: "Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent."
FACT: Karmelo Anthony will be eligible for parole after serving half his sentence, roughly 17.5 years. He is 19 years old.
Now ask yourself, if the races and sizes were reversed, if Karmelo was 6'1" standing over a seated smaller white teenager who reached up with a knife, does this even go to trial?
You already know the answer.
Say his name. Karmelo Anthony.
Stay Dangerous.
Karmelo Anthony has recieved more time (35 years) than George Zimmerman (no time), Daniel Penny (no time), Derek Chauvin (22.5 years), Amber Guyger (10 years) & Rick Chow (no time) COMBINED. This is unacceptable to any sane thinking, no racist person.
@WilsonS76588 The judge made them have court on Saturday; itās beyond rushed. Murder trials are never this short; & damn sure never get sentencing only a few hours later.
Damn they did the whole trial, & sentencing in 3 damn days. Somebody better have an appeal filed by midnight, cause never have I ever seen no shit like this
There's a lot of lessons to be learned from the Karmelo Anthony case, especially for our children.... But one I hope doesn't go overlooked is WATCH WHO YOU CALL YOUR FRIENDS!!!! Karmelo was called to that tent by someone he THOUGHT was his friend. Defense attorney showed multiple pictures of them together... But he came to testify AGAINST KARMELO. He "allegedly" recorded the whole thing. But then said he was only "pretending to record* and when he was showing his phone to everyone for them to see "He was only showing Karmelo ig page" be fucking fr. This young man you think is your friend, you've been around kicking it multiple times, call you to come sit with him. He's first laughing at you when you're getting bullied. He pulls out his phone to record you getting bullied. Then when you protect yourself AND HE HAS THE EVIDENCE THAT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE he deletes it and then testify against you. Because the bullies are more popular and goes to the same school..... Please be careful who you call your friends YOUR LIFE COULD LITERALLY DEPEND ON IT!!!
