You know the staff at the Cambridge Blood Donor Centre are so fantastic when the bruising from the needle lasts less than the glue from the bandage! I felt like a superhero the whole entire day after my blood donation! Wohoop!

Just had a wonderful lecture on the menopause in medical school and they talked about hormone replacement therapy and vaginal oestrogen and their role in UTIs and I just called to say THANK YOU @MadeleineAML
Schrodingers healthcare worker: so important they shouldn’t be allowed to take holiday but not important enough to have a pay rise in line with inflation.
Daily Mail thinks NHS staff shouldn’t be allowed annual leave during the pandemic?!
Well, I’ve just had 2 weeks off
I got to see my kids faces light up at Christmas, bug my sisters & hug my parents
Working for the NHS is our job. Not our moral obligation.
We’re human too!
I am struggling to accept that my holiday has come to an end, but why? I try to explain it to myself here:
'Holidays are the dessert of life'

This one, I am particularly proud of.
It's difficult to explain (or even comprehend) the extent to which medical school has changed my perspective on life... https://t.co/zWhtDIWorS
New blog post where I ponder whether medicine is really all about being 'smart'.
Betteridge's law of headlines: the answer is no! 😅

I put in a chest tube for a pneumothorax and the patient said ‘you are so freaking cool, that was so bad ass’ and honestly as someone who was the least cool kid at my highschool, this is a real life highlight.
A policeman in London put his hands around my neck and held me down because I was asking questions about why they were arresting a woman I knew. He slammed me on my face to cuff me. Let me go in minutes and left me with bruises. A policeman is charged with #SarahEverard's murder.
Forcing women to the floor and face down physical restraint is not the way to assure any of us that we are in safe hands, or that we will be protected from violence when we ask for help

I see the Mail has starting trying to pit doctors against nurses to distract from the disgrace of @BorisJohnson’s planned real terms NHS pay cut. Predictable. Cynical. Please don’t fall for it.
