@hattenhof @MacroAlf You have to consider forward inflation, maturity matched to the nominal and that gives you positive real rates. Eg 2yr nominal rates less 2yr break even inflation rate. You cannot use spot inflation.

@Peston Why is this surprising? Firstly the vaccine is designed to prevent severe illness not prevent the contraction of the virus. Secondly, 80% of adult population are doubled vaxxed so it stands to reason that many positive cases will be double vaxxed, unless the virus dies.
